Have any of you watched it yet?
If not, there's a scene where the main character who works for the IRS is going to this girls bakery to audet it.
And he asks her why she only payed 70% of her taxes, she then goes on to say more or less, that she paid all of it except for the ammount that would go to military supplies.
He then asks her if she's some type of anarchist, and if she's part of an anarchist group, where she then replies "Anarchists have a group? Do they have a symbol?" Him: "I don-" Her: "Doesn't that kinda destroy the purpose?"
Also, her bakery wall is covered with posters, and I happened to notice a Food Not Bombs poster on it.
In a way, it's sort of refreshing to see some people know what anarchists are [even if only little], and that it's made it's way into a mainstream movie.
Speaking of anarchism and movies, anyone have some good movies about anarchism they reccomend?

V For Vendetta... sort of. At least the comic book was about anarchism. The movie was modified to remove the anarchism in the movie.

Only thing is, there is nothing wrong with having an anarchist group, as long as there is no heirarchal control in that group.

The Anarchist Cookbook is a great movie. Rent has some anarchist undertones. SLC Punk is good, but I believe it misconstrues a few concepts on anarchism. I absolutely love V For Vendetta, while I despise Stranger Than Fiction...I thought the ending was horrible.

Yeah, the ending was lame, I don't like Will Ferral's acting anywho. [I probably mispelled his last name..]
Never seen SLC Punk, my little brother's seen The Anarchist Cookbook, but I haven't, as for Rent...I'm not in to musicals, and V for Vendetta was cool, but altered none the less..
I was playing Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence the other day, and I've always enjoyed how they make their story lines, especially in thise one.
In this one, it's saying the Cold War didn't end when we think it really did, and a lot of other stuff went down. [All made up of 'course.]
And they had this old communist scientist who was drunk when you found him, and I giggled when he said "You capitalist dogs are all the same!".
Don't ask me what the meaning behind my little story was, I lost it after "the other day,". xD

V for Vendetta and Anarchist Cookbook are both not exactly perfect, although they're not bad. V for Vendeta, as has been mentioned, is pretty censored, although still manages to be pretty controversial an not a bad film, but the Anarchist Cookbook is a bit dodgy. Although on the surface pro-Anarchist, it's made by Warner Bros, and alot ofc the messages in it are decidedly non-Anarchist. The entire ending for example, and for that matter most of the second half of the film, after they all start ******** up.
Although it does have some good messages in it (and is a very good film) i believe it does overall not promote Anarchists very well to those of us who are not pre-disposed towards it AND understand it fully.

ill agree with slc punk if you havent seen it watch it its great. there was a british television show in the early 80s that was sortof chaotic and had some anarchist characters in it...it was mostly a comedy tho id still advise checking it out...it is called "the young ones"...in my opinion anything about bringing down any government is anarchist to me lol.
