Hey... Just cuz I'm a bit of a poet I figured I'd start a poetry thread... post your poetry, talk about other poetry or just anything to do with poetry smile

I'll start with one of my poems.... I actually wrote it for a friend so they could pass english ahahaha so I had to follow certain criteria

Untitled
My heart is stolen
with a single backward glance
those eyes capture me
in her awkward romance

They sing in shade of honey sap and amber morning
right in tune
with the Autumn Afternoon

On winter nights
they dream under a blanket of soft white snow
carefully stitched together with a thread
of silver moon beams

and Just as the buds of spring
her eyes are reborn
in a cascade of the most vivid green

but its when her eyes shine in the summer sunset
my heart stops
my hair stands on end
and shivers shimmy down my spine in the fashion of tiny firemen

those eyes of hers rip every colour
from that sunset symphony
and trap it all in two perfect orbs of passion
just as they have every beat of my heart

yet still I await the day
when those eyes will look upon me
and I will hear them whisper

come close my love
and we well sing in tune with the autumn afternoon
come dream with me under a blanket of soft white snow
come my love and we shall be reborn
I will share with you all the colours of my world

come to me my sweet
and you shall be my Romeo
and I your Juliet

Inevitable, a fall

We live it out, we live it all

Living in screams, within a shell

Slowly it seems, we sink into hell

Never forget the first time you fell

from sated to saturated

another story to tell

Kill these lines

A fine time behind

but forth is a murder

a star that never shined

Black another light to hide our living fear

shut your mouth and cover your ears

stop your breathing and shed another tear

Illusion of Safety

With your arms around me,

I've never felt so warm here, so safe here.

I can't help but close my eyes, and pray, I'll

Allow you to whisk me away to my own demise.

( I love you so much. )

Your kisses take away all the pain,

You ever dared to let me to feel.

I seem not to care, that,

A new bruise dances on my stomach.

( And it hurts me. )

I don't want to dream without you. I don't want to live.

But I'm ready to flee this pain, the suffering, and my tears.

I want to grab your hand and take you too!!

I can't seem to let you go. Why?

( I love you so much. )

One day, you'll love me right. Show me something new.

As for now, you give me pain. You give me pleasure.

With confusion, with misunderstandings, and with anguish.

You smile. You grin. And you even laugh.

( And it hurts me. )

This circle has no end.

It has no end.

IT HAS NO END.

IT. HAS. NO. END!
