With the current popularity surrounding card games (Texas Hold'em especially) we should have a place in the guild to talk about cards.
So if any of you watch the many, many reruns of Poker championships (past and present) on the TV, or play card games yourselves, let's hear from you.
We can talk about best hands, best bluff, best call, anything.

I'll start out by telling the story of my best hand.
I was at the casino with my cousin playing Texas Hold'em and we were planning on leaving in about half an hour, and I get a King high straight flush. Based on the communal cards (I don't know the actual terminology or correct nomenclature for them) the only hand that can beat this would be the royal flush, which nobody can have because I have the King in my hand.
Needless to say I won the hand (I started playing with forty bucks, planning to lose it all and was already considering it the cost of the entertainment value, and instead I won another 56 bucks at the poker table) but the casino also had this High Hand thing where when you get a high hand it's put up on this board with your name, and whoever has the high hand when this timer reaches zero would win like 400 bucks.
I was excited but the time was at 2 hours, and my cousin was losing money (and not just a little to me on this hand) and so I didn't really want to ask him to stay another hour and a half after we had planned to leave. And I didn't really want to stay longer either because we had plans with someone else, which was why we had planned to leave when we did.
Twenty minutes after I get my hand, someone actually gets a royal flush (luckily not at my table, so I didn't cost me any money) and so that guy had the high hand and it wasn't an issue anymore. But I still think it would've been cool to win an extra 400 bucks.
So yeah, pointless story for y'all. Hope it kept you at least mildly entertained.

I've also been playing online with poker.com and I'm not really trying to win money, I'm just trying to have fun, and I succeed, in part by being an a*****e. I'll just start ripping on people and pissing them off...most people play badly when they're upset (really when they're distracted by any strong emotions) so this gives me and upper hand, and usually gives some more entertainment to everyone else at the table. It's always especially funny when I'm ripping on someone and they have really bad comebacks, that really aren't much of a comeback at all. It just makes it more funny for me, and it gives me more ammunition to use against them. Yeah, I'm an a*****e, but it's all in good fun. For everyone, but especially me.
