I would have to agree. Yuu Watase always makes the best shojo manga. I mean, there are other shojo artists who come out with maybe one really good title, but everything Watase ever puts out is amazing: Fushigi Yugi, Ceres, Absolute Boyfriend, etc. She's amazing! 3nodding

Yazawa Ai and Aihara Miki. I think Yazawa's stories are of a higher calibur, but Aihara's are just plain fun.

I'm going to agree with everyone and say Yuu Watase.
Her stories are all fantastic- one great hit after another! Fushigi Yugi, Ceres, Imadoki!, Alice 19th... they're all great!
Her art's also fantastic! I'm an artist myself, and it's really good-inspiring, even, as I always try to draw like her.

Mine is absolutely Arina Tanemura. I've read all the manga she's done and pretty much every series is in my top ten! Just not...the one-shots and stuff.
I mean...I've never hated a main character that's in an Arina Tanemura manga. I mean...sure sometimes they're weak...but not too weak. It's the perfect balance to me. They cry over the things they should be sad about, but they don't get all overly dramatic about it. The characters emotions in the situations they're put in usually seem very realistic to me...the situations themselves though...heh.
Arina Tanemura is just so wonderful!!! Kyaaah! ShinKuro (The Gentlemen's Alliance) and Full Moon rule! So wonderful!
