Hey guys, I decided to turn this into a movie chat thread.
So talk about some recent movies you've seen or movies you would like to see or anthing that might come accross your mind about a movie...New or old.

__________________________________________________________
Movie: 300

I saw it the other night and I fell in love.
It was such a good movie, better than the odyessy in my opinion.
xp Well the Odyessy was perty good.

Any how, I just loved it, and I thought I'd share it with you guys.
My favorite part was in the beginning of the movie when the King-God's messenger shows up to the Spartan's steps with heads of kings, (obious sighn of trouble) and the Spartan Queen makes a statement and the King-God's messenger says, " What makes this woman think she can speak amongst men?" and she quickly responds, "Because only Spartan Women give birth to REal MEN." I was like ohhh, OWNED!
lol

My least favorite part is when the captains son dies. The guy on the horse seemed to come from nowhere and I just thought it was stupid.
Spartans weren't to be sensitive, and this was a sensitive moment that kinda seemed silly to me when the captain called out to his son...and I thought it was stupid that his son died that way.

Anyways, reading through news articles today I came accross this one article about outraged Iranians with the movie 300. That it depiced middle eastern history (persian history) inacuratly making them seem like cultureless monsters who were out to rule the world and that the movie itself was an "obious insult" to the Persians and middle east.

Check it out.
Outraged Iranians

What do you guys think?
I didn't make this connection at all when watching the movie.

I haven't seen the movie since I live in Australia D: but...
I love Sparta. XD
So much. It's so much more interesting than all the other cities we need to study.

And yes, I am a Ancient History nerd. It's the best subject ever. XD

Woot, this is just a random quote from my Ancient History book:

"Lysistrata: Welcome Lampito my dear. How are things in Sparta? Darling, you look simply beautiful. Such colour, such resilience! Why I bet you could throttle a bull.

Lampito: So could you my dear, if you were training. Don't you know I practise rump jumps every day?

Lysistrata: And such marvellous breasts too."

"HAHAHAHAHA!"
"Why are you laughing?"
"HAHA! Fighting in the shade!"

I LOVED 300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, now that that's out of my system let me put it this way. If you've read the ancient accounts of the battle of Thermopylae, you'll realize something which should make you think about modern military.

The Spartans, like most Greeks, were gay. There's nothing wrong with that, it was perfectly normal during that time period, just as it is now. I can only imagine though, if the US military took away 'don't ask, don't tell.'
I mean, the greatest soldiers in all of history were gay, so there should be nothing wrong with having gay soldiers in the military today.

That was such a cool effin movie!!!

I liked the part with the Rhino, how the dude just stands there, knowing that it'll die before it gets him.

Spartans are such badasses!!

Lysistrata is sooo funny! We saw a modern adaptation of it a few years ago, and I still giggle thinking about it.

Indeed I read about that and what a General said...General Pace I belive.
I do think it's very messed up to say that Gay's shouldn't be in our Military.
So discrimitory.
At the same time I can understand those who do not want to hear any openly gay conversatinons or whatever...I mean I really don't want to hear about anyone's personal life anyways...Gay or not...I don't need to know.
But Yeah the Government is totally focused on all the wrong issues.
Gay's in the Military ... rolleyes
