Who else here loves Lord of The Rings!? I'd have to say my favorite book by Tolkien is The Hobbit. My favorite movie out of the three? Return of The King!!! smile
Random thought: What would the child of Gollum and an Ewok from Star Wars look like??? burning_eyes

I like the books a lot more than I like the movies, but the first movie is what made me want to read the books. My fave movie would prob. have to be the two towers. The first one took too long to get to the fighting and the last one had too many false endings

The books are cool! The movies are good because you can actually see everything (in color even!). I'd say the books are better. Meh.

yeah...with book-based movies, the book(s) is usually better neutral

Yeah, they always leave some of the best stuff out because if they didn't each movie would be like 6 hours long. sad

I thought the books moved a little too slow for my tastes... So I'm good watching people hack things, not read about them walking to a place where they can go hack things.

Both generally, unless my roommate's the DM, then it's mainly for profit and the "Blue Pellets"

What would be a cool D&D campaign is have the setting be LOTR, only it is an alternate universe where Frodo was able to keep the ring away from Gollum and escape. Then, he eventually overthrew Sauron and became the new dark lord. He enslaved the hobbits, humans, dwarves, elves, and everyone else. The players would be part of an underground resistance. What do you think?
