POST 2: HOW TO BECOME A STAFF MEMBERSo you want to join and be part of the wonderful Colosseum Team! We're always looking for more helpers, as this is a bit of a crazy thread. Each staff position is described below, with instructions in italics on how you can go about applying for that position. Contest OrganizerThis is one of the most intense staff positions, so if you're wishy washy about commiting to tasks, then this position is not for you. It does come with rewards however, but you definitely earn them with the work that goes into being a dedicated Organizer. To get this position, you have to be a regular around the thread, or someone whom I trust or who can be vouched for by someone else. Just PM me on my main, p3p574r, and ask if you can be an organizer. Let me know a bit about how often and how much you'll be able to work on the thread. Tasks: Editing the thread title to reflect current contest status. Saving and uploading contestants' entries to the photobucket account. Updating the contestant post. Creating polls. Judge contests, unless you're entered in the one being judged. Totaling up the poll and judge scores, and declaring winners. Updating the winners post.
Benefits: Use of the photobucket to host some of your own images. Entry in the monthy staff raffle for the money stored on the mule accounts. Special staff icon when the ranking system comes out. Chibi art of your avatar to use while posting on the mule. Entry into the Organizer only contest, with a prize given to the organizer who works on the thread the most. Staff Stuff post where you can request avatar art, put up a wishlist, and link to any of your own threads. ScorekeeperThis is a rather involved position, as it requires you do a lot of data input into the gradebook program. You don't have as many different tasks as Organizers do, but the tasks you do have can be time consuming. It may be difficult to work with the grading software at first, but once you get the hang of it it's fairly simple. To get this job, you need to download the gradebook program (linked further down in the thread) and see if you think you can learn how to use it. If you think you can, then pm p3p574r and show her you can use it by picking a contest from the archive and adding it to the gradebook. If you can do that, then you're hired. Tasks: Learning the gradebook software. Updating the gradebook at least once a week. Adding new contestants to the class roster. Creating assignments for each part of each contest. Recording all scores into the assignments. Emailing the updated gradebook to p3p574r whenever you do a large update, or once a week.
Benefits: Entry in the monthy staff raffle for the money stored on the mule accounts. Special staff icon when the ranking system comes out. Chibi art of your avatar. Monthly sealed letter for your work on this. Staff Stuff post where you can request avatar art, put up a wishlist, and link to any of your own threads. Thread HelperThis is a job with slightly less pressure, but is still very important in keeping the thread running smoothly. It mostly involves keeping track of important bits of information that people post in the thread, and updating some of the threads in the guild with the information you collect. To get this position, just pm p3p574r and you're pretty much in. We always need more helpers.Tasks: Copying all Inventory Hunt posts to the 'Contest Notes' thread. Copying all thread suggestions to the 'Contest Notes' thread. Copying all contest idea submissions to the 'Contest Idea Pool' thread. Keeping track of the contest rerun requests, and updating their standings in the 'Contest Idea Pool' thread. Judge contests, if no organizers are available, unless you're entered in the one being judged. Copying all miscellaneous contest posts to the 'Contest Notes' thread. If no organizers are online, keep track of the entries being submitted and post them in the 'Contest Notes' thread.
Benefits: Entry in the monthy staff raffle for the money stored on the mule accounts. Special staff icon when the ranking system comes out. Chibi headshot of your avatar to use while posting on the mule. Entry into the Helper only contest, with a prize given to the organizer who works on the thread the most. RaterThis is an easier job than being an Organizer or Helper, which is why you can hold this position along with the others, but I'm still mainly looking for people who are willing to spend a decent amount of time rating people in the thread. You will get to chose a special rate that people can request from you, but you'll also have to be able to do a default 1/10 rate if someone requests it. To be a Rater, just pm p3p574r and ask to be one. We can always use more Raters.Tasks: Rating people with your special rate. Rating people with a default 1/10 rate. If asked about your reasonings behind the rate, be able to give an answer. Be fair, thorough, and helpful.
Benefits: Special staff icon when the ranking system comes out. Chibi headshot of your avatar.

POST 3: SO YOU'RE STAFF NOW, WHAT NEXT?You've been accepted onto the team! Congratulations! Now, there are some things you need to do that differ depending on what your staff position is. The information listed here needs to be posted in the Staff Information thread ASAP. This information is part of joining the staff so I can add you to the threads and get to work on the art and graphics needed for you. Contest Organizer Step 1: FRIENDSLIST THIS ACCOUNT. Step 2: READ POST 5 of this thread. Step 3: Post a rough schedule of times you're willing to be on, or how often you want to work on this. Avatar Image: Make an av that represents you, gladiatorish-ness is a plus but not necessary. This will be drawn in chibi form by p3p574r for you to use whenever you post on the mule, and will also be the image that represents you in the staff post. About: You can put however much information you want here, it doesn't need to be an essay. Some things that most staff members have put in this section are your name, nickname, age/birthday, location, interests, favorite colors, and quotes. You can include all or none of these things in your about section, but a small blurb about yourself is mandatory. This information will be mostly permanent (I'll change it for you if you desperately want to, but try and make it perfect the first time) as it'll be an image to make the layout look better. Avatar Art: If people want to make avatar art of you have links to a few avs they can pick from. Quests/Wishlist: Items you'd love, tally of donators if you're questing for something. Selling: Items you want to get rid of, I like selling to AT people rather than exchangers, cause I know ATers usually love and cherish their items, so I don't mind giving them a deal on them. Tektek environment: If you guys want this, if not then ignore it. Personal links: If you have a contest thread of your own, or an art shop or something, whatever you want to link basically.Scorekeeper Step 1: FRIENDSLIST THIS ACCOUNT. POST 4: CONTEST FLOW CHARTThis is a step by step overview of how the thread is run, and at what point each step in the process takes place. I may make this into a graphic at a later point in time. Step 1: Contest Announced Update thread title with current contest theme. Insert blank contestant post. Update the winners post with the winners from the last contest. Write current theme description in the current contest post. Put blank info in the next contest information section. Find someone to judge, or declare yourself a judge.
Step 2: Contestant Entry Submitted Save and upload their avatar to the proper photobucket directory. Update the contestant post with the entry.
Step 3: Contest is Full Update thread title with 'Vote Now!!' and the current theme. Add a poll numbered 1-9 with the theme title. Generate a random number from 1-5 to decide the next contest. Update the upcoming contest section with the next theme. Put a new theme in the pool to replace the one that was just picked. Have judge score the contestants and pm you the results.
Step 4: Poll Finished Copy and paste the poll results in the thread if no one else has. Add the poll scores to the judges scores to determine the winner. Post the winners in the thread. Make a post in the contest archive with all contest information. Go back to step one and begin the next round.

POST 5: HOW TO FOR ORGANIZERSHandling Contest Entries Step 1: Check the Emp for entry PMs. • If an entry doesn't meet contest requirements, reply stating what must be fixed for their entry to be accepted. • If there are layering questions, relay the entry PM to [K!ng] for him to figure out. • If an entry meets all contest requirements, save the entry image to your computer, reply "Accepted", and move on. • Take all replies after this response to your own account. Emp's inbox needs to stay un-cluttered. • If the contest has already filled, reply to the late entry PM letting them know.Step 2: Upload the entry image onto Photobucket. • If there's no sub-album for the current contest, create one in the "Colosseum" album, following suit. • Upload entries in the order they were recieved, as they come in. • Label each entry image with the creator's full username in the "click to add title" box.Step 3: Fill in the contestants' post. • Place each avatar image's url between the img tags for its number.Step 4: Start the contest. • Edit the first post of the thread, creating a poll in this exact format. • Change the "(Join!!)" in the title to "(Vote!!)".Step 5: Record the contest. • Quote the contestants' post, copy everything inside, and use it to create a new post in the contest archive thread. • At the top of the post, follow this format: CONTEST ###: [b]Contest Title Contest[/b] • Below that, paste the contestants' post you copied.Step 6:•
