Hey ya'll, this is my journal. Right now I would ask you to please not comment just because I want to get it going first. Thanks!
So: It's spring which means a couple of bad things for me...
-Skippy gtes to shed off half his weight...(lol which might be a good thing though!) -Major melting/freezing snaps are making it slipperly from ice and water. It will melt a whole bunch in the day and then drop to -1 or -2 and then in the day get to 7-10...It sucks because Skippy acts like a jerk and plays a whole bunch then falls on his face and I can't ride him *sigh* grrr
Thank-you carry on

Okay so!
First order of business, my journal is officially open to comment...COMMENTS ONLY PLEASE! I don't want my journal to become another chat thread...it's a journal. Also, please do not quote a post unless it is DIRECTLY related to you, as in has your name in it somewhere.
Second order of business... Yesterday, I went out to the barn to ride. Yeah, they're doing spring cleaning for a clinic so Everything had been pressure washed and I couldn't ride. I was upset so I just walked around for a while and then read until I was picked up. Not a heck of a lot going on otherwise horsey for me though...*sigh*
Thank-you, carry on

Cherry: He was being a jerk because he wasn't doing what I asked and was trying to get off the circle and run into the wall *sigh*
General: Haven't ridden since I got home yesterday. I'm going out to ride tomorrow though! I'm really really excited. Then I leave again for the States. We're going to a whole bunch of tack shops in Seattle. I'm excited.

So a couple of things:
1-I rode Skippy today. He wasn't horribl;e, however, I really want to fix this whole thing of his about going on the left rein. He always throws his shoulders right and his haunches left. Grrr! It's getting frustrating. Today I decided to try a new way of fixing it. Well a couple actually. The first way was taking my dressage whip in my right had and holding it about half way instead of at the handle. Then whenever I felt him trying to push his shoulders right, I would tap him and push him straight ahead. That didn't go so well, he started to flip out and halt then refuse to move or begin to run backwards. Gotta love that evasion. So, I tried: Taking him down the longside in the walk going left and doing shoulder-in. It really helped. I need to do more lateral work with him, it's just that I'm afarid to becuse when I do too much, he gets sore. So we did shoulder-in on the longsides at walk for about 10 minutes. Then I started to trot. I usually post-trot, just because he has a really big, bouncy trot that sucks to try and sit, but today I sat it really well. I was happy about that. And so, I did shoulder-in at trot for about 5 minutes. After that fiasco, I decided that he deserved to have some fun so I let him do some canter circles then we did some 10 meter circles, doing flying changes at the centerline. Those were good. After that I went into posting trot and did extended trot along the diagonal then got off. He was good.
2-My other thing is that the two Dutchies that are coming up, I have no new news on them. However, at the barn today, I realized that if this Dutchie thing goes though, I'M GOING TO NEED ALL MY MEMBERSHIPS!! I need AEF, EC, CADORAA, DC. I'm totally flipping out now!!
Thank-you, carry on

Latest update!
*Omak is where every year, they hold the "Suicide Run" They run horses and riders down an almost completely straight incline hill, many horses are put down because of it and I do not support, might let you know more where Omak is though
First: I went to Washington State on a road trip with my mom and Debbie (mom's friend). We went to a little place called Omak*, it's i the middle of NO WHERE!! All they do there is Western riding there. My grandparents who live there, have neighbours behind them, who have roping horses. I got to ride one of the horses. We went down into the canyon behind the orchiard and it was lots of fun! I rode a little chestnut gelding who (ironically) was named Skipper (Skippy/Skipper conincidence!!!) And we had lots of fun. Also, Skipper is 16...so is My Skippy (STRANGE!!!) and so I am welcome to ride there anytime I'm down there!! If you would like to see pictures, take a look at my scrapbook (bottem category)They are not posted yet, but soon. I would like to point out that they didn't have a helmet I could wear, so I went helmetless! (wow, big for me) Also, I didn't being boots so I'm wearing sneakers!! Daryll (the man whose hore I rode) Also got new calves to practice on for roping season! There will be pictures in my scrapbook. They are jersey cows and they mooed at me when I was takjing the pictures!
Secondly: The new warmbloods are not here yet (that I know of) I have not been out to the barn to ride since I got home (12:15) last night! Hopefully soon though!!!
