http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/171656/women_sues_doctors_over_botched_abortion.html whee Never seen this site before, but I saw it on Fox this morning, but I think I missed where they actually talked about the situation, so I looked it up and it's really recent. I think... It won't let me copy and paste, I would have to copy everything on the page! So I won't bother.
To sum it up, a lady gave birth to her daughter who she tried to abort before (the child was born December 04) and now she's suing Planned Parenthood so she can get child support... I think I read it right, even though it's late here... tired... sweatdrop
Anyway, her daughter's born of course, but the mom is angry. Or else she loves her daughter and wants the money, but either way she's... a very interesting woman. I think it said she had financial problems which is why she wanted the abortion, but getting the money to raise your child by suing because your child is alive? If she hadn't wanted her daughter, she would have put her up for adoption, but no, she wants the girl and the money and she has a convenient way to get it.
This seems like a simple "That's horrible!" topic that we'll all agree on, but there's other questions. What will the two-year-old daughter think when she's older? Do you think the woman's actually still mad about her daughter being born, or is she happy but only wanting the money all of a sudden so she's pretending to be upset? It's the thought of what she's doing that makes me sad, but the baby will find out later that this happened even if her mom doesn't win, and that's not good at all.
Other than that, I'm very happy the girl lived. ^ ^ It's 10:30 so I'm going to bed. I don't know how much I'll be on tomorrow... I'll say it again, yay! The girl actually lived! She gets to have birthdays and holidays and dreams and arguments and relationships, just like us. How did that happen?

the last part sums it up exactly- if she'd have ben aborted, she never would have been here. you can't just take that away, it's not just a disease or clump of cells, she is proof tht even unwanted feti will be people no different from anyone else

I'd throw this out of court. If she really couldn't raise the child, she could have left it in a hospital, at a police station, on a bus...problem solved. Or failing that, it's probably pretty easy to fake SIDS. Though there would have been a paper trail that she wanted an abortion.
She could also have gone to the PCG weeks before giving birth, crying about her bodily integrity. I'm sure some members would have done it themselves, chanting in a robotic voice "MUST...KILL...FETUS...!"
Anyways, when her child hears about this, she'd better pretend it was all a scam unless she wants to shell out money for therapy.

I can see the choicers now; "It's not PP's fault, it's the childs! Prepare the lynching!"
And why wouldn't they? Different means to the same end, no?

 Actually...
I would think that some choicers would support this. After all, adoption apparently isn't a good option, right? And a woman shouldn't have to be a mother when she doesn't want to be, and Planned Parenthood messed up, making her have a financial burden she doesn't deserve!
Of course, some would say the solution is to kill the born baby and petition for contracts saying, "You are guaranteed a dead fetus or baby," and to keep it from being broken, they should have the right to kill born people.
Not everyone. Just some people.
If there is legal grounds to say that women deserve the right to abort because they don't want to be mothers, then sueing Planned Parenthood should be okay. If there is no legal grounds for it, than I never want to hear another argument about how hard and expensive it is to be a mother because it has nothing to do with abortion rights.

But she went so long without complaining...
I think Planned Parenthood deserves to get sued, but when you have child support does it mean you can use the money or is it automatically only useable by your kid? This is why I shouldn't make topics, I don't know anything I'm supposed to! xd

You're just awarded the money, I believe. That's how it works with a former friend of mine...she uses the money to barhop and complains that she doesn't have enough money to take care of her son. She just dumps him at her mother's house and goes out.
For obvious reasons, we grew apart...

"I already tried to kill you once. I'll do it if you don't shut up and do what I tell you to."
"I don't owe you anything. You should just be grateful I didn't kill you at birth and pretend you died naturally. I thought of it, but I decided to go for the money option."

Kind of a really ******** up version of "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out." "I brought you into this world, but only because the abortion provider screwed up." eek God, what a way to mess with a kid's psyche... sad

I think the choicers would think the woman was a bit stupid, not being able to recognise she was still pregnant after the procedure, not this 'it's the child's fault!' crap.
Personally, I think it sounds a bit like fat people suing McDonalds . . .

........idiot....................she should be one of those stupid people that we kill just to perserve the little intellegence that we still have in america.......thats got to be an interesting conversation when the child grows up. Sicko Mom: "Mommy loves you very much sweetie but when you were little and still in my womb I tried to kill you cause I didn't want to have a baby. But then when I found out that it didn't work and had to give birth to you I was really angry and sued the people who failed to terminate your life" Child: "........................................."*runs into next room and cries.

I really hope this story gets a lot of press.
Think about it:
PP screwed up and caused someone to live, now their mother is filing a lawsuit.
Hell i hope she takes it to court and it gets put on every TV network out there. Also, part of me kind of hopes she wins. Anything that costs PP money makes me smile.

Let's hope there will be a lot of 'abortions that weren't,' but for the lives' sake, not for sueing. :3 It's so awesome that the girl lived. I can't imagine her ever becoming Pro-choice... not that her stance is worth how she'll feel later about this... She's going to find out about this when she's older anyway, so she may as well snatch PP's money, but... well... I don't know... it can go several ways...
