Welcome to Gaia! ::

As of yet, my conworld lacks a name. Most of the species there simply refer to it as "the world." This first post will simply be detailing the various species living on this conworld. Further posts will flesh out their cultures, the deities of the world, and whatnot.

It is a heavily magic based world, influencing many of the advances in the various sentient species.


-A plains species, descended from predatory creatures similar to our great cats.

-A shapeshifting reptilian species, similar in form to Western dragons (only skinnier, smaller, and they don't breath fire), capable of flight (driven by both physical and magical forces). They have three forms. Full reptilian, intermediate, and "human." The "human" form is similar in shape to a human (duh). However, the skin is dry and rough, and the hair is formed from elongated, thin scales, and generally only a few inches long. Split into various tribes.

-"Humans" Were once a Tribe of the reptilian species, long ago. Said Tribe spent much time in the humanoid form, and eventually they simply did not use the other forms. The children stopped being taught to shift, and they have forgotten the true nature of their roots. They are only human in form, being reptilian in nature.

-A species living in the forests, long ago created through magic. Similar in form to the stereotypical idea of elves (slender, pointy ears, blah blah blah). However, they are covered in a light fur, their ears are wide and lay flat against the skull, and they certainly are not the intelligent (though they are intelligent in their own right), peaceful elves common in fantasy worlds. The closest things to mammalian humans, but still not quite.

-An ocean dwelling species, similar to cetaceans on our world. Highly intelligent, and were the first sentient species actually on the planet, having developed elsewhere. No one knows much about them, and I haven't really developed them yet.

There are other species, though none sentient, as with these ones.
