Okay, so I've (finally) worked up the gall to post an idea of mine that's been buzzing around my head for about a year now.

Uhm... I don't really know how to start this out, so I'll just post the opening I'd originally conceived for the thread. :3

Tokyo Mew Mew... with a Twist~ heart


Fifteen years have passed since the end of the original Mew project and everyone who was involved has, since then, moved on with their lives. Some have gotten married, some have children, and all are still friends.

However, unusual things have been happening recently. Animals have been disappearing from zoos, pets have gone missing from their homes. . . and now, it seems, someone has restarted the Mew project. With Ryou out of the country, Keiichiro doing his own thing, and the former Mews too wrapped up in their own lives to do anything of the sort, who would do this?

Oh ho ho, Licorice is back with another Mew Mew RP based (somewhat) on the end of the A La Mode series. How is this different from all of the other Mew RPs on this board? Well, in order to understand that, one has to see things from my point of view. Recently, I’ve been thinking of alternate reasons as to why in the Tokyo Mew Mew series all of the Mews are girls (with the exception of Berii—her infusion was purely an accident), and the answer I kept coming back to was this: Ryou is a teenaged boy—of course he’s going to want a team of magical girls at his beck and call. It’s one of those “harem animé” situation sorta things. . .

. . . So, then, I naturally wondered what would happen if I reversed this idea and made it so that the leader was a teenaged girl. Well, in theory, that would make the Mew team full of bishounen, right?

Therein lies the basis for this RP; magical boys. <3

But who is the leader for this; who is the one who restarted the Mew project? Well. . . remember the little girl who Berii saved in the second A La Mode volume? She would be in her early twenties by the time all of this started.

Yeah, I think you know where this is headed. :3

Tacked onto this opening is a list of rules that I tend to conform to when I create a character. The thing is... hah hah, it's a rather long list, and I doubt many people would be able to fulfill all of the requirements. XD;;

Ah, the missing animals wouldn't be able to fulfill the requirements for Mew infusion; remember that Mews are infused with critically endangered animals. :3

So yes, ah, it's an enemy who's taking them. Well, not really taking them so much as convincing them to leave. Ah, I don't want to give too much away, though. XD;;

I will say this, though: the enemy is a single being, and it needs to build itself an army of loyal (non-sentient) servants to further its cause. If this were to ever actually become a roleplaying thread (that is, if I don't decide to go and make this into a self-contained future Mew fancomic), I would take on the role of the main baddie and the "army". :3

Well... the form isn't all that long; it's just the rule list that people apparently have diffuculty with. As for the costumes... well, all you have to do is make a costume for a female Mew and adapt it to a male body, really.

One thing to keep in mind about how I organized this:

Most of my Mew RP experience comes from MMF. As such, any examples I may list are derived from things I've seen (and laughed at) there.

GENERAL RULES

1) Follow the board rules about keeping it PG-13-ish, plzkthx.
2) Excessive use of OoC discussion is unloved. If you want to chat with someone, take it to your inbox.
3) If your character has a distinctive personality in his profile, for the love of whatever you believe in PLEASE follow what you wrote for his actions and thoughts. If your character is all “goth” or whatever, he isn’t going to be all bubbly and hyper. . . unless he has a REALLY good reason, like someone force-fed him a Red Bull or something.
4) Regarding pairings: Please discuss possible pairings with the person controlling the character you want to pair your character with.
5) OCxCanon pairings are also unloved, especially seeing as how the main love interests are either twice the age of the new characters, out of the country, or in the case of Ryou, both.
6) With the relatively large number of male characters in skimpy costumes, it seems pointless to say this, but I figure it’s probably a good idea anyway: there is a possibility for BL in this. If you have issues with homosexual love, you fail you shouldn’t be here. Or you should keep your mouth shut and not attack people for it.
7) If I have to ask you to be more descriptive about any part of your character’s profile (specifically his physical description—both human and Mew, but mostly the latter), you are OUT. No exceptions.



CHARACTER CREATION

Alrighty, the fun part.

Unlike my previous RPs, there is NO LIMIT on the number of Mews to be included in this. However, many of the character creation rules/guidelines remain the same.

Rules on making Mews

1) This RP is meant solely for Mews of the male persuasion. That is to say, Mews are to be BOYS ONLY. The only girl really working with the new Mews is the head of the project. She may have a friend or two to help her who may also be girls, but none of them are to be Mews.

2) You must stick with the manga's established food-based naming scheme. No "Mew Jake" or "Mew Dark" or anything like that. Fruits, candy, drinks, etcetera, are fine.

~~ His human name may be different from his Mew name, but PLEASE try to keep his human name Asian-ish. No English names. The Japanese/Chinese/etc. version of an English food name (i.e. Lemon is Remon, Licorice is Rikorisuu—use that one and I’ll hunt you down and eat your spleen, Chocolate is Chokoreto, etc.) would be best, but you don’t have to go that far.

3) Your character’s color scheme MUST reflect his food-name. I don’t want there to be a Mew Peach whose colors are black and blue, capish? If you cannot think of a color scheme, PM me, and I shall help you out.

~~I will post the taken color schemes next to the fan Mew’s name, and I would prefer it if each Mew was to have a different coloring scheme; I don’t want to see two Mews with their main color as pink or green or something.

++++Yes, pastel/feminine colors are allowed for these Mews. (I, personally, would be obligated to glomp a cute boy in a pink, frilly Mew outfit. . . but maybe that’s just me.)

4) The character must have endangered animal DNA. No random cats or foxes--if you're going to have a cat Mew or a fox Mew or something to that effect, you must specify what they are. Not only that, but no repeats in DNA! I don't want three tiger Mews here, alright? The accepted list shows the taken DNA next to the character who was infused with it.

~~ No "mythical" creatures allowed! This means no unicorns or dragons or anything of that sort!

++++ No. Angels. Period.

5) Regarding their costumes: the Mew boys all have the collars and armband poofy things that the girls had. Despite being boys, their costumes aren’t much different in design than their predecessors. Why? Suffice it to say that the head of the project has her own agenda in these matters (Mustang complex, anyone?). The garter is optional, but the Mew cannot wear long pants. Really, all you have to do is make up a normal Mew-ish uniform, then adapt it to a boy’s body.

Ah, yeah. Well... I plan to keep my examples of what not to do, as, judging from what I've seen in the few threads we have in here, they're still needed. I'm going to alter the bit about Zakura's thread, of course. However, I'm entertaining the idea of making a sticky with a similar idea. That is, if you're going to post a picture of your character, it had better be of your character. The idea of using other people's characters without their permission or using already well-known characters in place of your own for a roleplay that has nothing to do with them (e.g. Sakuraba Milfeulle from Galaxy Angel) kinda miffs me a bit. D:

Ah... would I be allowed to do that? I'm still kinda new at the "crew" thing. ^^;;

Post in the OOC section? Are you referring to my "RP picture rule" sticky idea? 'Cause, uhm, I don't think that would be such a great idea with that; those whom it would generally apply to wouldn't run across it there. ^^;

Hee, I'm not sure when I'll ever get to actually starting this as a role playing thread, though. Right now, I'm involved in only one Mew role playing thread on MMF and I'm having difficulty keeping up with it due to outside obligations (school, work, that sort of thing). ^^;;

The Mew Mew Cruise

PLOT
the aliens have come back in full force, so Ryou decided to make a new mew mew project. he put lots of new endangered species into his machine. but then, one of the aliens messes with the machine, and the DNA is given to people all over the world. and so, the mew mews are going to take a cruise all over the world to try to find all of the new mew mews.

RULES:
~follow the original rules set by [m i n t y]
~You have to make up your own character(you are not allowed to use the orginal mew mews)
~you have to use actuall endangered species
