What do you think about starting up a IRC chat channel, if possible, and so we will have more than just the Guild here on Gaia to just talk and offer support.

We can do that I think it would be cool. But the problem is that ppl has MSN and Gtalk and AOL and ICQ... And they prefer this program over Irc I'm one of that persons because I had unplesent expirience with Irc that someone hacked in to my PC :S and so I don't like it very much but hey I can change razz and I know that it would be cool biggrin

Well the possability of someone hacking your PC is possible as long as you use the internet, or have an active internet connection due to IP broadcasting.

that is true but the point is that I like chating with ppl I know rather than unknown ppl. I will newer go online and chat whit bunch of ppl that I dont know nothing about. Here I atleast know that you all are Linux fans like me.
So IRC chanel for this guild would be cool razz we could chat a bit more.

Yeap, and so you will feel safe we could make it a private channel and require a password for people to join. As long as the password is given out to members of the guild then no worries.

for this to be done, wouldnt you have to have a guild web-site? Because gaia doesnt support any chat system... or does it?

No, someone can just set up a chat on an IRC channel, not related to ANY website. Once they do, they can give us the server and port info, and the name of the room (and password if necessary). That means you'll have to download an IRC client if you don't already have one. If you're still on Windows, I recommend mIRC. Otherwise I think you get some kind of default IRC client in both Gnome and KDE (I have Konversation in KDE, anyway).
This is a cool idea, though.

Even better is if the freenode's mods ever call me, I can set us up a private set of channels. I told them that are channels would be Linux Users-*, so any channel that has "Linux Users" would be our channel, even if we did not make it. They will also give us more control over the channel than we would if we were to just start up an unofficial channel. Also we will have the reassurance that our channel will always be there, so when they go though cleaning up the server of all inactive channels ours will be left alone.

Damn this sounds so cool so now we can connetct to that. The only problem is that I cant connect to it from work because I'm behind proxy :S so If you have any idea how to connect to it pleas let me know biggrin

Gaim is limited with its IRC abillites, Gaim does better for Instant Messaging. I would suggest X Chat on your system, X Chat is for both Windows and Linux.
