I started this contest in the hopes that people who are amazing avatar creators would join, but I also knew that the tastes of everyone I invited (along with everyone who found the thread on their own) would be vastly different.

Now, you can choose to accept your low scores as being beaten down and failure every time, but try thinking of it in these terms instead: The score may just come down to the fact that the judge that time didn't appreciate your style, or maybe you didn't fit with the theme as much as another avatar did, or even if your av actually was bad giving up and whining about it is the last thing you should be doing.

I knew that not everyone that happened upon this thread would be a fantastic avatar creator, but I was hoping that those who weren't would at least learn from this thread, and I can already see that some people have. The discussion that goes on between contests about everyones entries is invaluable. Everyone helps each other out, even though they're competing with each other.

The advice you can get from everyone else (if you're so unhappy with your results here) should discourage you from just bailing out. It should encourage you to try harder and learn neat new item tricks and combinations, rather than cry about how we're parading your failures out for the world to see. Honestly, there are people who have entered more than you and failed every time, and you don't see them complaining, they're actually stepping up their game. I'm not saying you need to step up your game or anything, because I like your avs, you just need to stop obsessing over not winning, and thinking of each contest that you don't win as a failure.
