Okay, so... it's a long story on why I'm asking.
See, I was in a dicussion with a friend on the Impressive bloodlines. This started freaking me out a bit because I remembered the barn owner's (Riley's owner - he's 100% mine April 1 when I can make my final payment) had mensioned something about Riley, and then the impressive lines. I don't remember if they said he was or wasn't - I think they said he was.
Which, now I need to find out for sure - that I'll know in a couple days.
Though the reason for my post, what do you guys know on HYPP. I'm looking for information but don't have time to do all the research myself because of school.
I know a lot about Impressive; the horse that all this started with. He's a beatiful horse, foaled 1969 and he was a chestnut who was HYPP N/H

I know I was told for sure before but I can't remember if she said he was or not.... I'm going to e-mail the AQHA and ask for his pedegree... if they'll help me out.

Well lets start here, what breed is the Impressive bloodline? What breed is Riley's sire and dam? Who were Riley's sire and dam?? With that information, you should be able to trace the pedigree quite easily if he is of a major bloodline

stargazer42 Well lets start here, what breed is the Impressive bloodline? What breed is Riley's sire and dam? Who were Riley's sire and dam?? With that information, you should be able to trace the pedigree quite easily if he is of a major bloodline That would be hard to know Star.

You should TECHNICALLY know everything about your horse's breeding and background. As well as the sire and dam's background. It's just common sense. If the people selling the horse to you don't know or won't tell you, you might not want to buy the horse.

TRUE and good point, anyway one of my horses has papers, too bad my Palomino Stud doesn't have papers so I'm screwed.

Help would be great! HYPP (I Think) is short for Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis. Some times they just get paralised. Don't know much else. Story's Guide to Raising Horses has a breif description.
