i went back and changed my answer for "serendipity".
i don't see why "whimsy" wouldn't work for that.
doesn't it sort of mean just "whatever happens"? so that could be as much whimsy as luck.
Serendipty means something that happens out of the blue, luck means something good happens for no real reason and whimsy means being imaginative... I think
Serendipty - the faculty or phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for
Whimsy - the quality or state of being whimsical or fanciful
Luck - to come upon something desirable by chance
