Songs That Express What You Can't Have you ever heard a song and thought that the lyrics expressed exactly how you were feeling? Well, this is the place to talk about it.
This thread is for those songs that you can't seem to get out of your head.
The songs that make you weak when hearing them because it reflects some part deep inside you that you can't put into words yourself.
The songs that make you so emotional while listening to them.
The songs that make you want to scream, cry, crush you fist into a wall, or fall in love all over again.
So, if there's a song that really affects you, whether in a positive or negative way, post them here, with the lyrics, preferrably. Then post why you chose that song.

Mine is: Heaven Help UsBy My Chemical Romance Hear the sound The angels come screaming down Your voice I hear you've been bleeding
Make your choice They say you've been pleading Someone save us
Heaven help us now Come crashing down We'll hear the sound As you're falling down
Help this old hotel But can't tell if I've been breathing, Or sleeping, Or screaming, Or waiting for the man to call And maybe all of the above Cause mostly I've been sprawled on these cathedral steps While spitting out the blood and screaming Someone save us
Heaven help us now Come crashing down We'll hear the sound As you're falling down
And will you pray for me? Or make a saint of me? And will you lay for me? And make a saint of me?
Cause I'll give you all the nails you need Cover me in gasoline Wipe away those tears of blood again And the punchline to the joke is asking Someone save us
Heaven help us now Come crashing down We'll hear the sound As you fall
And would you pray for me? (You don't know a thing about my sins) (How the misery begins) Or make a saint of me? (You don't know) (So I'm burning, I'm burning) And will you lay for me? (You don't know a thing about my sins) (How the misery begins) And make a saint of me? (You don't know) (Cause I'm burning, I'm burning)
Cause I'll give you all the nails you need (I'm burning, I'm burning again) Cover me in gasoline againYou can listen to it here, if you want. Reason:
Other than the whole song itself, the lyrics are beautiful. It perfectly describes a place I've been in my mind for 5 months now. It makes me want to cry and scream at the same time. Of course, tears never seem to come for me... I've had it stuck in my head since I got it, which was early last week. I've been listening to it constantly also. I love the song, but it seems that everytime I listen to it, I wind up being depressed and think too much because it makes me think of things I don't want to. I've been at a lack of writing lately, especially poetry, because I can't get out of the frame of mind I'm in, but the song gives me another way to look at it. I don't know...somehow it relieves me. As upset, depressed, angry at myself, and anxious I get after listening to it, it ends in a peaceful relief. I can't explain it really. But still, I can't stop listening to it...It's addicting.

I never really got over her. I still wish she was mine. I couldn't see then what was right in front of me. I never meant to be that way. I just want her to see me again. I want her to look at me and see who she used to see and love.
Cold Crossfade
Looking back at me I see that I never really got it right I never stopped to think of you I’m always wrapped up in things I cannot win You are the antidote that gets me by Something strong like a drug that gets me high
What I really meant to say Is I’m sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so cold
What I really meant to say Is I’m sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so
Cold to you, I’m sorry about all the lies Maybe in a different light You can see me stand on my own again cause now I can see You are the antidote that got me by Something strong like a drug that got me high
What I really meant to say Is I’m sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so cold
What I really meant to say Is I’m sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so cold
I never meant to be, so cold
I never really wanted you to see The screwed up side of me that I keep Locked inside of me so deep it always seems to get to me I never really wanted you to go So many things you should have known I guess for me there’s just no hope I never meant to be so cold
What I really meant to say Is I’m sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so cold
What I really meant to say Is I’m sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so cold

One of mine has no words. The song is entitled "Regret" composed by Gackt who, at the time, was part of Malice Mizer. The entire song is done by piano and it is quite a piece indeed.

Right now, the song that really describes me is called Cyanide Sun. It's by HIM and I bought the CD it's on the 19th. I love the song, but the lyrics are perfect. Exactly how I feel right now, as sad as that is.
Cyanide Sun HIM
Should've known how hard it is to stop tearing each other apart Separating souls entwined with all these labyrinthine lies
I am dead to you, a shadow doomed My love, forever in the dark And of all untruths the truest is you Too close to my heart
This emptiness I've made my home Embracing memories of dreams long gone One last caress from the corpse of love is all I want Underneath the cyanide sun
We've sailed the seas of grief on a raft built with our tears Looking for a way to disappear for a moment from our deepest fears
I'll be drowning you in this river of gloom Forever in my heart

It is a beautiful song, I love MCR they're awesome.

Yeah, I love them, too. And I absolutely adore Heaven Help Us. Actually, funny thing is, I went to a show in April and they performed Heaven Help Us and my friend and I were almost the only people that knew it. It truly is a beautiful song.

I saw them at projekt revolution over the summer, they put on a really good show...that's actually when I started getting into them so if they played that song there I wouldn't have known it back then.

Ohne Dich by Eisbrecher (Icebreaker). These are the English translation lyrics of the original German lyrics. This song perfectly describes how I feel about my girlfriend. Read them, think about them, then think about your loved one....you will understand. If you don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend, well read the lyrics and when you have a relationship, come back and read them again damn it, because you will truly understand these lyrics in every way if you truly are in love.....I should know.
I burn for you I can't breath without you You forgive because you love I fall for you I can no longer stand up without you You understand because you live
What is the sun without your light What is a picture without your face I have cursed life I have tried to live alone But I can't
Without you I can't be free Without you I can't be endlessly high Without you I am alone Without you I can't fly Without you I can't endlessly love Without you I cannot be
I awake for you I can't feel anything without you You liberate you forgive I drown in you I feel your heart beat deep in me You understand because you live
I pray to God that this never ends That your fire will dazzle me forever I miss you, I count every second Without your mercy I will go under

I really like the one above ^. And yes, I do understand them, oh so clearly. I'll have to look up the song itself somewhere now. Love the lyrics. XD

These are the English translated lyrics for Eisbrecher's song "Zeichen der Venus." Another song that just....interests me.
Ice-cold moonlight at the end of the night burns my desire Feel the fire Sense the power
Sweet sin, kiss me Close your eyes and miss me Sweet sin, feed me on your fire and consume me
My heart is so heavy I am so empty I want – more from you More – more from everything
All my senses concentrated on you Feel how my pulse races How it reacts to your passion
You pretend so heavenly I feel so empty In the sign of the Venus My heart is so heavy
More...
