For forums (Gaia! <3) and email, use ANSI numerical codes to type the character you want. And use the codes for HTML when...you do HTML stuff!

Go to the respective sections to read up on how to use each system.

(Gahh, this must be my 10th time trying to post this message! scream )

For whatever reason, I can't get the Alt+#### thing to work. My computer makes the annoying error beep whenever I try. Any thoughts? Advice? Clue why this isn't working?

Did you use four numbers or three? 'Cause I got it to work but only with the "alt + ###" thingy...

You know, I wanted to post the chorus of Ich Will in my sig, but Gaia doesn't take/recognize umlauts. So sad D:

Oh, and, nice guide. I have my own German handbook so I don't really look on the Internet for those things. sweatdrop

The way I always remember the 'u' with an umlaut (German terms) is that 'fuhrer' has one, and the sound the 'u' makes helps me (it came up while I was studying WWII).

Thanks. I was just browsing the Internet, and I found this nifty little guide.

Squizzle, is Number Lock on? Since I think that's the problem. (I know from experience!)
Make sure Number Lock is on, and then hold down Alt while using the numbers on the "numberpad" instead of the ones that appear above the actual letters, but below the "F" keys.
