 Lazuli Welcome to Deskira Library, with it's magnificent four floors containing knowledge in one of it's raw forms. Literature. The selection is expansive, from typical everyday reading to the more in-depth research files from around the world. The first floor is open fully to all guests, even those without library cards (Of course all are more than welcome to apply for one before the event closes! heart ) The upper floors are still slightly under reconstruction, but rest assured, those floors will be up and working as the day progresses. For the time being, relax, explore, enjoy. Feel free to converse with me, manager of operations, Lazuli, and one of the stocking crew, Kyle. Also, go around and meet others that arrive, for certainly the opening of one of the central knowledge hubs is bound to bring in a wide range of visitors! And yes, good people, like any event, there are free refreshments heart Enjoy your time in the library! Oh, and don't forget your map. Yes, it's right here!The tables are represented in dark brown, and the comfy chairs are in light blue. The top right corner is filled primarily with non-fiction titles, while the ones on the left are some fiction and science fiction titles. If you're looking for some magazines, I'll be at the main desk. Kyle will also be filtering his way through the area so feel free to ask him for specific titles or authors you may be interested in.

Lazuli opened the doors to the library and set the sign up next to the entranceway outside. It was a lovely day, and a little warmer than the time of year usually called for. He thought it was rather fitting, and he hoped people would be out milling about in such good weather. Strolling back inside, he slid back behind the main counter and sifted through some of his paperwork.
"Good, up to date on all the notices, and most of the books have been promptly returned" he muttered softly. Every few minutes his eyes would look up over his glasses towards the open door, wondering when the first few guests would arrive.
Kyle, on the other hand, found it far more amusing to stack the assorted snacks and make a miniature house out of some crackers and cheese. It soon became the centerpiece of the table, and satisfied with his work, Kyle left it there. A sidelong glance from Lazuli told him silently that he ought to find more productive things to do, and the man trotted off to get the drinks and cups.

It was just another day learning the new nooks and crannies of this town, as Milan normally did when coming to a new place. The warm sun had surprised her this morning, so she and Minami had opted to bring a picnic lunch with them to each on the hill, if they made it that far. The open doors of what appeared to be a library attracted her attention, though, and they walked over to take a peek inside.
Milan read the sign quickly, and reread it again before looking at Minami. "What do you think?" she asked. "Want to check it out?" Minami nodded, and smiled a soft smile, and lead the way inside.

Hearing footsteps towards the door, Lazuli acutely snapped to attention from his reading. The young man set down the novel and smiled at the young lady, his experssion welcoming. "Welcome to Deskira Library. Please feel free to look around, madam. If there's anything you'd like to know, merely ask."
He didn't fail to take notice of Minami, however, nodding to the child politely as well. First and foremost Lazuli was always raised to be a gentleman. Secondly, he was raised to be observant. But of course, a gentleman keeps observations to himself. So he smiled, and set the observations aside.

Minami wandered past the desk and over to a bookshelf full of non fiction titles, selecting one, and quickly became engaged in it, one that Milan couldn't make out the title of from where she was. Her blue eyes darted back and forth across the page, reading the words on them with pure and apparent interest.
Milan shook her head and smiled, laughing to herself silently. "Well now," she said to herself. "Milan's apparently interested in the books... so... "
"Excuse me," she said, approaching the young man behind the main desk as she brushed her hair back over her shoulder where it belonged. "I read on the sign outside something about applying for a library card.... How would one go about that?"

A bit of glee entered Lazuli there, upon hearing of interest in the library. He cheerfully pulled at a little white form and a pen from his pocket, sliding it across the varnished wood counter to her. "All you need to do is fill out and turn it in when you're done. Then I'll just enter it in the computer and print you out a card~" His eyes moved to the child in the non-fiction section. "Under secondary name, you can put her name as well, so when she's older she can come in and borrow books on her own"
Kyle sauntered up to the child, holding a stack of various non-fiction novels, and he tilted his head. "I figured kids typically liked fantasy and fiction stuff. What're you reading, kiddo?"

"Alright," Milan smiled, taking the pen and white form from him, and setting herself to work on filling it out. It didn't take too long and she handed it back to him with a smile. "I'm sorry, I never did catch your name... "
Minami looked up at Kyle surprised. Her attention had been so caputred by the book she was holding in her hands that she hadnt heard him approach. "What am I-- oh!" She slipped her finger between the pages as she closed the book to show him the title, Stars. "I'm reading this one. Do you like this one?"

The young man hit his forehead with his palm lightly in self-reprimand.
"I'm terribly sorry, miss. I'm Lazuli Azaelius. It's been so long since Deskira has had so many newcomers, that I'd forgotten that not everyone knows each other here. Pardon my rudeness." He took the sheet and looked it over. Nodding in approval, he set it on the lower counter and began to key it all in.
Lazuli added cheerfully, "I should have a card for you and your child promptly." The librarian brushed his bangs out of his face and handed her the new little plastic card. "There you go. All set. You can check out books whenever you like now."
Meanwhile, Kyle eyed the child. "I've read it, and I found it a little too somber for my tastes, but to each their own. It's a very well-known book." He glanced at Lazuli, who was busy setting up a new account. Considering the kid's age, the two were likely together. "Seems like you'll be able to borrow that one, if you'd like." He offered her a big smile. "You know, the table over there has some snacks if you're hungry. And if you're anything like my son, you'd enjoy 'em." With a big sweeping motion he pointed out the table set up with crackers, cookies, and all sorts of other little treats, as well as an assortment of drinks.

Milan chuckled quietly. "It's not a problem." She took the card from him and glanced down at it, verifying the few details it displayed. "It's a great place, Deskira... I was very glad when I saw there was a library. I'm Milan, by the way. Milan Oscurarsi."
Minami glanced over at the table of treats and looked back at the man before her. "Thank you," she said, smiling ear to ear, offering her empty hand to Kyle. "Come get a snack with me?"
