I have been playing .hack//MUTATION for a while, but only cleared .hack//INFECTION today...so, the question is: how do I get my hack infection data into hack mutation? And once I move my data, will my hack mutation game restart?

the save from Infection should be "data flaged" if you completely beat the game. the save file text will appear as yellow instead of white. when you start Mutation, before you even load a game, in the main menu, go down to the bottom option that says, "Convert" then select your saved Data Flag from Infection and it will load it.
the only problem i see is that it will start Mutation from the begining of the game. but you will have every item, and be the same levels as you were when you saved it in the data flag from Infection.
im not 100% sure but i think you can also skip games if you want to by transfering data from a previous game to a later game. i.e., Infection to Outbreak (skipping Mutation). but you cant go backwards. i.e., Quarantine to Outbreak. if you do skip you'll miss alot of items though.

Actually, I'm not sure you can skip games, I think it only looks for the data flag for the privious game. Then again, who would skip any?

I agree with you. Why would anyone want to skip through games as great as the .Hack games?

I've only played one of the first four .hack games, and I wish I could have played the other three. .hack//Outbreak is the game I speak of, and it was great. I bought it so I could use the data on GU. smile

I love .hack// but I haven't finished the first four yet... Mostly because I only recently started and don't have much free time, but I'm trying to finish soon. Right now I'm on Outbreak as well, and so far the only challenging parts are the solo missions and Virus Core hunting... I didn't like that Mistral left... and so all my favorite partners are gone. neutral

actually each game gives a different type of flag when u beat it. each one has its own code therefore you cant skip a game. i got the 1st and second one. my parents got me the 3rd one by accident

But...But...But I only have .hack//Outbreak. I've even played it through completely, minus a few pieces here and there...Like the phantom quest thingy...

i beat the first game then started the second then my suposed friend ran off to new mexico with my memry card and vol 2 of . hack
