»»»Iquel walked into the forest that he so often had looked upon in his childhood. These forests had been protected by the king and the elves. He decided that he would set up his palace here, a palace that would not scar the forest with its present. He walked through the forest with care, looking for the perfect spot to place his castle of security. His foot steps echoed lightly through the forest, mingling in with the calls of the animals that inhabited the splendid forest. He was careful not to break a leaf and not to leave any sign that he was even in the forest. He made barely a sound, only the soft padding of his feet upon the soft grass. He kept his out for any of the graceful elves that were known to patrol the forest. Even with his keen senses he probably wouldn't be able to see them or hear them unless they wanted him to. »»»Some hours later he came upon an area that seemed ancient. He knew of this place, had come here as a young boy and played around in the clearing. He would play games with friends he brought into the area, he knew that the elves did not use this place. He would indeed create his castle of security within this clearing of his past. He rubbed his hands together as he prepared to begin the conjuring of the basic layout of the castle. Before he began, for this could take a long time, he cast some simple spells that guaranteed that he wouldn't starve or dehydrate. »»»Iquel had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, he was about to bring his castle into being. He began his chanting in a low, melodic voice. The words were seemingly just jibberish to those that didn't know the ancient arcane languages involved in spells. He slowly increased the volume of his voice as he went through the chant. Slowly, every so slowly, a castle of metal stone came into being. Its hallways were dark for there were no windows on the building. It seemed hours before the spell was finally finished. Iquel was drained of seventy-five percent of his magical energies. »»»He was drained from summoning the castle but he had enough energy left to create magical items that would bring some luxury into the castle. He pulled a small bag from his pocket and reached into it. He pulled out a large ring. He smiled as he remembered the adventure he got the ring during. He muttered a command word a glass sphere materialized about a foot from him. He muttered the command word this time except that he added an extra muttered phrase. A foot away roughly 200 glass spheres materialized, he smiled, he was glad that he had not needed to use any magical energies to bring these stupid things into being, but they were a necessary evil, they would bring light into his castle of security. »»»He brought his arms out wide and then he began. He was calling upon the limitless light of the Positive Energy Plane, he coaxed a tiny portion of its power into one of the glass spheres. He sighed, he didn't want to have to repeat this spell to cover each of the glass spheres he had summoned before him. He would just have adjust the spell to bring into being great amounts of energy from the Positive Energy Plane. He did just that, he began adjusting the spell's wording and brought into being great amounts of energy to put into the glowing orbs. He at last finished the task of putting the adjustable light source into the glass orbs. He brought forth one of the few remaining spells he could muster and brought a horde of invisible servants that took the orbs of light and strung them using string throughout the castle. »»»Iquel yawned and walked into his castle. He had already memorized the entire layout of his castle, he walked the halls half asleep as the unseen servants did their work. He found his bedroom, a light orb had just been setup and was quite bright for him. He squinted and focused upon it, dimming the orb down to a comfortable light amount. He waved his hand a muttered something under his breath, a small bed appeared before him. He was spent at the last amount of exertion for that small bed. He flopped down on it, one of the unseen servants took his weapons off of him and plopped his pillows up the way he liked. The servant pulled the cover upon him and he was asleep...

»»»Iquel awoke the next morning feeling quite refreshed, his magical energies fully restored or almost atleast. Conjuring this magical castle had drained him permanently decreased him magical energies by four percent. This was indeed a decrease, but it wouldn't be noticeable. He pulled the covers back and swung his legs over the side. He rubbed his eyes with his hands, getting the "sleep" from the corner of his eyes. He stood and muttered something under his breath, bringing into being an unseen servant. The servant fixed the small cot's covers and then followed Iquel out of the room. Iquel walked out into the hall and looked around at the unadorned metallic walls. He crossed his arms and thought for a moment, searching for just the right spell. He nodded and then muttered the words of the spell. As he finished the last words of it a portrait of a tower being hit by waves shimmered into existence. He mentally commanded the unseen servant to place the portrait upon the wall. »»»The walls of the castle were made of an iron composite, which meant that the walls were both quite smooth and quite strong. You couldn't simply put a nail into the wall and then hang something upon the nail, a spell was actually used to hang things on the walls and ceiling of the manor. The spell had been given the name "sticky," because it stuck things to another. The unseen servants used this spell to attach things to the ceiling and walls. While this was extremely useful it had its downsides, the downside was that the two items could be separated with even a small amount of force, such as a wind stronger than ten miles per hour. A wind that strong just might happen within the confines of the castle since he did have enemies and they did know magics. They could conjure a magical hurricane within the castle, though hopefully they wouldn't make it that far, or Iquel might find a means with which to prevent them from doing so. »»»Iquel wandered through the hallways of his castle, conjuring paintings and small desks for photos, magic photos of course. Occasionally he would conjure a statue or suit of armor, these would be used within the security of the castle but for now they were just cosmetic. He roamed throughout the castle conjuring things here and there, just sprucing up the place, creating nice furniture and instruments, ingredients for potions, fireplaces, distilling sets, etc. within the large rooms of the castle for entertaining guests. He had created plenty of things within the castle for guests and comfort, he decided that he would then begin creating the security for the Castle of Security. He needed just the right spell to begin with, one that would protect his Castle of Security. »»»He reached within a sack that was really an extradimensional pocket that he created, it could containing anything that would fit into the opening of the sack. He pulled out his spell book and began flipping through it looking for the right spell to protect this place from ghosts or beings on the planes that coexisted with this one, the ethereal plane and the shadow plane. He wanted to make sure that they couldn't enter with the confines of the castle, he searched through the giant tome that was his spell book. He just skimmed the pages of the spell book, not really reading everything into the book. »»»He flipped page after page after page after page, coming up empty. He stopped all of a sudden and flipped back a page, he read down the text carefully, not missing a word. He smiled, he had indeed found a spell that would protect the castle from incorporeal beings. The title the spell had been given was Ghost Trap. He read over the conditions of the spell and nodded to himself, he began the casting. He began speaking the arcane words, weaving the power of magic to protect his castle. As he spoke the last of the arcane words energy rippled outward from him, rendering solid the insubstantial. The spell would corporealize the incorporeal beings who tried to enter his castle. He sighed from the energy release and wound his ways through the halls and out the front door his castle. »»»Iquel knew a great spell for the surveillance of his manor. Reaching into the sack, Iquel produced a small animal skull. He smiled, this was his favorite surveillance spell. He began the incantation of the spell, speaking the arcane words with care, as he cast the spell, the animal skull in his hands glowed green, the radiance fading quickly. He cast his perception into the skull and saw his own form holding it. He switched his viewpoint back and set the skull above the entrance, in the top right corner. This spell allowed him to see, hear, and speak through the tiny animal skull from any distance. He used the stick spell to place it in the corner above the door. The skull kind of stuck out, he would have to camouflage it. Tapping into the energies of the forest he brought forth a growth of moss and vines, wrapping them around the skull, covering it up, though leaving the eye and ear holes up. He repeated the creation of a skull and the camouflaging of it but placed it in the left corner above the door. He smiled at his handiwork. »»»He would need to have a full view of the person at his door. He looked around for a place to put another skull so that he could see the entire person at his door. There was a tree on either side of the steps that lead up to the door. He smiled to himself and created two more magical skulls. He placed one in either tree, hiding them with vines and moss as he did the skulls above the doorway. He would need something already at the doorway to take the thing out if they were a threat to him. He picked up two pebbles from the ground and began an incantation. A few moments later the two began twisting and grow into medium sized stone spiders. The stone spiders blinked their many eyes and twisted around. Iquel commanded them to either side of the porch, that way if a dangerous being were to walk here he would simply think they were small statues of spiders while, when he goes to enter or knock, he would be attacked by the spiders. One of the many creatures he planned to have protecting his castle and compound.
