FFXII looks so cool! The graphics look spectacular and the gameplay looks even better. Not only that the Bosses look awesome. I'm not sure what the new Gambit system's about though...

I was actually really disappointed with it, the graphics were good, but you can have awesome graphics and still have the potential to be the worst game of all time.
I thought the best thing about XII was the voice acting (Balthier roxxors my boxxors. and you know he's regularly tappin' Fran. and Ashe wants some Balthier lovin' too.)
The plot didn't impress me, nor did the battle system, and I have to quote penny arcade when I say the Gambit system is like masturbating. The game plays itself.

I think the game is s**t.

But i'm picky with what i like and i seem to like old stuff...
I'm a fuddy duddy! smile
Balthier was the only thing keeping my intrest and then he got hollow just like the rest...
There is no likeable characters in this story, They all seem bland to me like someone's half baked stars wars rehatch...
The stories silly too... Dull and long... Not enough sexual inuendo...
And that Cid just dont cut the crop sad
Sorry i can see what you could like in it but this game is really not for me, I like meat between my bread when it comes to Final Fantasy games and this one just lacks the protein i need to get emersed in the mythos.
Graphics are gorgeous smile the hairs not as good as it was in Ten though. Oddly enough.
Voice acting is top notch biggrin I could only hope they could find colorful more emersed characters to voice though x.x
Gambits are cool smile
Summons are awesome
Airships are orgasmic...
Judges own my soul...
But it just does'nt grab me like the others... Nope
The last final fantasy i enjoyed was 3 on my DS and before that it was 9.
Squeenix is more than capable of making an awesome 3d RPG adventure! with a story and characters that you actualy care about! It just to me seems like they've only made 3 of them o.o;;; 7 9 and 3 the rest are horrid... Rant rant rant XD
Long story short...
13 looks awesome i want it to be awesome... I wana love it!
But if i dont i think i might start leaning more towards the Dragonquest series since they seem to have a more traditional and well rounded aproach to those games, i'm 120hours into DQ8 >.> And i aint nearly done yet smile
Also Rocket Slime is the Sex biggrin
So Squeenix still has my love, as long as they dont ******** up Dragonquest razz
It seems to me like they want to Try new things and bring final fantasy into a new audience, while expanding on Tradition with Dragonquest smile
Yep they're trying to make all of us happy and i'm glad about that...

I really liked it, though the battles could have been better. It really made me miss Final Fantasy X where you could really plan things out. It was like X, with the need for stradegy, just no time to think.
I actually loved the gambits once I got enough and figured out how to really use them (especially support magic). Beserk + Bravery + Haste = Awesome. The world was really interesting, but I still wish they'd gone into more depth with the history, and why didn't you ever get to see where Al Cid was from? O.o
I felt like there could have been a ton more places to go, but there was never the time. Summons also felt iffy. Since X is my favorite, I always focus on the summons, so if they do a shabby job I'm not too happy. They looked alright, but they weren't really useful. They should have made you spend MP to summon instead of making you waste the mist charges.
But I thought the story was good. It definatly feels like it needs more installments though. Too bad it'll only be on the DS.

i'm afraid i have to agree with almost everything Dec said (including how he's a fuddy duddy)
the story didn't hold my interest at all. In fact it was only when I beated up Cid the second time that I actually thought things could still be saved. The reclaiming of their own history sounds cool.
spoiler:Final Boss Rayne didn't impress me at all. I wish it could have been the party fighting the Occuria though, in order to reclaim their history in a big final fight where they all fuse to become Occurion, wielder of history, nexus of destiny. A bit of development with the Occuria and we could have had an amazing time destroying them
It would have been nice to have an ever-present bad guy though, one that constantly hinders the party and that does things to them that makes you mad.
I liked the alternate Cid, Al-Cid was it? would have been nice to see a bit more of him.
I don't actually want XIII anymore, XII has put me off new FF games completely. I, like Dec, would much rather play DQ8 (VA is awesome in that too).

Off to watch One Piece.

Yeah I agree with the Occuria statement. The thing just felt rushed. Like they had so much more plot that they just didn't get to because of deadlines. The Occuria just kinda came in randomly. There wasn't much background for a lot of the stuff, like Bahamut.
And Rayne didn't impress me either. His character was interesting, but just didn't possess that twisted personality that the other characters had. Enough to make me hate him, but not enough to make me wish I could rip out his spine.
For the most part it was enough for me. I really enjoyed it despite its flaws. The story was different, but it was refreshing for me, and I didn't feel it bastardized the series.

It wasn't HEAD exploding material. Gameplay was MEH. I can't say I didn't enjoy myself though. It did make my eyes have mutiple orgasmos. sweatdrop

I have to agree with some people about the gameplay. The Gambit system has it's ups and downs, like for the fact that you can have your characters heal their damn selves to save you the hassle of it, which is what pissed me off in the other games, considering I always died because I had to wait my turn....
The downs are the fact that if you have enough gambits like I do (The whole damn page) then you literally don't even have to do anything, save for use your thumb for moving the characters around.
Another thing I liked about it was the Espers, though Zodiark was a pain in my a**...but he's awesome. If you go out of your way to get them, you get rewarded graciously, I think.
The storyline is a little f**ked up to say the least. It's difficult to follow.
I don't know how many agree with me, but this game was satisfactory in the way it avoided the romance. Don't throw your controllers and stinky clothes at me yet. I'm a sucker for the romance, but I have to draw the line somewhere. The perfect example would be FFX. Decent game if you didn't fly through it, and I didn't mind the romance, but the so-called 'sequel' to that literally made me slam my head into the door. The mushy crap isn't what I want a game made out of, which was ALL FFX-2 was made out of, so a romance-less FFXII is a nice turn around for me personally.
