So certain shounen girls seemed to have developed the Helpless Syndrom, as a thread in the A/M/C stated.
I somewhat agree.
In fact, they aren't the only ones. Girls from every genre have been looked down upon because they don't/can't defend themselves when a giant gorilla attacks or when a sexual predator tries to rape them. =[
Feh.
Whatever.
It's not like I somewhat agree with them because of those reasons.
True, they may be useful...ocassionally, but it has been so long since we've seen them fight at the frontlines and not go flying off as if they were Team Rocket who've just suffered a Thunderbolt from Pikachu.
For some, none of us have ever been able to witness them actually fight without getting owned ten seconds later.
I personally want to see them do more than housewive's chores and comforting others.
I want to see them fight.
This thread is currently focused on two certain characters from two popular series. Who are they? They are Haruno Sakura of Naruto and Kuchiki Rukia of BLEACH.
Yes, it's them.
Have you never heard fans of these two girls get harassed for favoring weaklings?

Haruno Sakura: She was first introduced as a rabid fangirl of Sasuke. Annoying, bitchy, and helpless as her antis claimed her to be, she wasn't completely useless ninety five percent of the time she fought at the front lines. After the Timeskip, however, I was amazed when she fought against Kakashi-sensei. Instead of falling for the trick (where Kakashi transforms into a severely injured Sasuke) and then falling half-dead from shock, she saw through the trick. No, that wasn't amazing, but she's not as gullible. The real amazing thing Sakura did was when she found Kakashi. One hit and the ground breaks. One kick and trees topple over. Her skills have improved. Isn't that better than watching her just stand there with a kunai while Naruto and Sasuke steal all the spotlight?
Kuchiki Rukia: If it wasn't for Kusaki Ichigo, Rukia may have been more useful than running around coaching him. Don't be mistaken though. Rukia's an excellent coach. She's useful also. In fact, she's very, very useful. But what happened during the Soul Society arc? The Bounto filler arc? Now, I understand that the person being saved going around fighting when she's lost all of her powers may be weird...and strange... What about the Bounto arc though? She fights a bounto and ends up having to run around to keep from dying. Sad, isn't it? But I still thought that she was cool. I can't ever bring myself to even dislike Rukia. I also understand why she was unable to protect herself as much as she might've been able to. Ichigo. Rukia wanted to give him some of her powers because she was so nice, but that ungrateful person took it all. Just kidding. It's not as if Ichigo did it on purpose. Anyway, in a recent episode of BLEACH, we discover that she has her powers fully returned. And then she goes kill someone with her awesome Zanpaktou (sp?). I hope we get to see less of her being protected by Ichigo 24/7 and that she gets to show off her abilities more often.
These are my views and my opinions.
