 Many of you, I'm sure, being well versed on teh intarwebs, have heard of the Darwin Awards. Basically, a place to make fun of people who died doing stupid s**t that anyone with half a brain knows is dangerous. So yes, let's cry over all those 16-year-olds who just HAD to have an abortion, tried something even Johnny Knoxville wouldn't attempt, and unsurprisingly died. Would you feel sorry for a murderer who died when the bullet ricocheted off his victim? Who would you feel more sorry for, a totally innocent victim, or someone who died in the process of trying to kill someone else, in a way they knew was dangerous. Oh, but they just HAAAD to kill that thing. Even if it meant risking their own life. That deserves not pity, but a Darwin Award. Also, those fonts are really ugly.EDIT for critical lurkers: whee Do I think people/fetuses dying can be funny? You have to laugh at some things. But it is hypocritical to claim that it's okay to laugh at the stupid and dangerous things some people have done, while treating women who die from illegal abortions as martyrs of the terrible, oppressive patriarchy.

And this children is what happens when you don't work towards better alternatives nd instead just tell people "oooohhh you should kill it." because then people act as though they have some magical ability to NOT die when they shove sharp foreign objects into delicate places or by ingesting toxic substances. And then the people who told her that it's a-okay to just kill it however she saw fit, even though it's extremely dangerous, turn around and blame us because we want to help them both instead of resorting to killing.
Shame on us.
I can totally see how this is our fault and not theirs. rolleyes

So I take it she died before the 70s or lives somewhere other than the US? I don't know when abortion was legalized in other places. Or did she get an illegal abortion even though, you know, "safe and legal" abortion was available to her? Are we the ones telling women to set up their own illegal homemade and unregulated clinics should they ever lose access to abortion? I love emotional appeals like this. They're so illogical and misleading. My only thought when I see things like this is that I'm not entirely wrong when I suspect some people are teaching other people to set up clinics because the more women dead, the more likely legal abortion will stay around. But this one doesn't really make sense, in fact, it's counterproductive IF she lived in the US. It's saying that even making abortion safe and legal doesn't prevent illegal abortions. Way to go! EDIT: To avoid confusion, I will edit in what I said later on, because some people don't like to read the entire thread... This reminds me a lot of that woman who was nine months pregnant and about to give birth but on the delivery date she shot herself so that the baby died and tried to make it look like someone else shot her. They all jumped on it saying this is why it should be legal! She could have hurt herself!
They left out the fact that she'd been looking forward to having a baby, according to all of her family...and according to her. She did it in a moment of panic, she said. But let's leave that fact out. Let's forget that she did have access to abortion for 6 months. Let's forget that she chose to shoot herself rather than go one more day being pregnant.
Oh no. It's all our fault she shot herself.

I voted the first option for some reason... sweatdrop I was confused whether it was sarcasm or not, but anyway... I do hate how they support killing unborn children and then turn to us and say we have to do it to save the women. I don't know anything about statistics, but more babies die every year than the amount of women that would die, because I don't think every single woman who wouldn't be able to get an abortion would do it herself and not every single woman would die from it, so if there's more humans to be saved then why not support them? A person can decide if they want to risk themselves just to not be pregnant, they're the ones who put their life on the line doing it. They believe the woman's life's worth more because she's a person, but when all those babies are born, there will be a lot of people that would have been aborted and it'll add up to a lot of saved lives because abortion was illegalized.
It reminds me, I don't know why, of how they've said that we shouldn't show pictures of aborted fetuses because it disrespects the dead, but they themselves had no respect for the fetus when it was alive so what's the point? But that's not on topic...

And people dying is never humorous. It's horrible that women are dying from illegal abortions. But you know what? We're not the ones PROMOTING illegal abortions. We try presenting alternatives and they do all they can to shut them down because they want the business to keep going. They are profiting off of the deaths of both women and the unborn. If women die from illegal abortions, then they can say, "Look, women die unless you let them kill their children!" They fail to mention who tells women their lives will be ruined if they have children, or who is telling people how to set up dangerous clinics. They fail to mention how many humans die from abortion. They fail to mention how many hopes, dreams, and lives they want to prevent. They fail to mention that there are born people that they think should be dead. They can go ahead and push this tripe under the guise of "saving" women. But the truth is, the people pushing this are GLAD women listen to them and do stupid things like killing themselves with illegal abortions. That is SICK. It is NEVER a good thing when ANY human dies from this. If they are not glad, than they would not be telling women to "Defy the man" and get an illegal abortions, saying things like like abortion "is a relatively easy procedure to perform." Either they want women to do this and die, or they're idiots who don't realize this sort of talk is going to *gasp* encourage women to abort illegally.

Edit: The only thing that your "Trap" proved anyway...is that we freaking care about women. Good job.
Edit 2: Alright. I will start off by saying, I was very wrong to jump to that conclusion. I know for a fact that the person I was talking about DOES care about women, not just herself, and she is intelligent and passionate about her cause. I made a big mistake. I won't delete my words because I can't erase what was said since they've been read already. But what I can do is say here, right now, to disregard it. Whoever it's talking about, it was wrong.
