I was asked that many times and I could never quite explain it to them. How would Oi! be defined? It means something to me that my broken vocabulary can't put into a good explanation. Or maybe I'm just a confused c**t with a shaved head. Who's to say but me?

i view it as more of a feeling than a word but www.dictionary.com views it as:–interjection (used to express dismay, pain, annoyance, grief, etc.)

I use the word as a greeting "oi oi" for instance, to get someone's attention, and also as something to shout.
Its also a tyle of music, but I doubt I have to tell any of you that.

I don't know if this'll work but i'm gonna try anyway,.... Weird punky chips ahoy video..I like that video,..despite how they use the punk's and punk music as a way of advertisment,..it's still kinda funny,... I basically use the term "Oi" as a greeting or to get someones attention,...plus I just like the way it sounds,..especially when collaborated with my very poor imitation of a British cockney accent.
