Yay, I got a new game!
To get me off WoW, hubby bought me
Rogue Galaxy, I haven't finished it yet (heck, only about three hours into it) but I'll try to give a good review so far on it.
The game is made by those gents from Level 5, which did the Dark Cloud series (and you can see it with how the characters look). They've implemented some of the same stuff from DC 2 in here, you have your main and off-hand weapon, still synthesize your weapons (through the use of a frog that'll eat two weapons that have their skills maxxed out and spit out a different one), instead of fishing contests and races, you catch bugs and fight them instead (haven't gotten far in that, so I can't say anything about it yet).
One of the feelings I get from this game is that it's a mixture between Star Wars and Treasure Planet, so far I've started from Tatooine, gone to the third moon of Endor (only jungley, and with amazons instead of ewoks) and had just flown a space galleon through Corusant (and I gotta say that was my favorite cinematic so far)
Plot-wise, it's cliche at points; the main character is the typical tattoo'd baby left on doorstep of church who wishes to leave his enslaved planet and travel the stars, gets a case of mistaken identity and has his chance to leave.
There's Obligatory Love Interest, Gruff Bounty Hunter Guy with an eyepatch, Amazon who knows she's from the most primitive planet in the galaxy and wants to see the other worlds (that's gotta be depressing; knowing about other worlds and having to know that yours is one of the most undeveloped of them all), A C3POesque robot and a weird creature in a body suit (all I got so far, there's two more characters though).
So far I've got to say that I'm happy with their voice acting as well, they've gotten a few FF;AC VA's along with some who did Robotech; Shadow Chronicles (that already was happy-dance time for me).
That's all I can think of at the moment, hope this helps somebody.
