Kiseki yawned and stretched her legs out across her bed. She smiled at her socks that didn't match, which she wore on her hands. The socks were clashing shades of purple and sea green. They were knee highs, and they went way past her elbows. Turning her head to the side slowly, Kiseki's hair covered her eyes.
"Good morning Nurple..." she had her purple sock strike up some small talk with her orange sock. It's 'mouth' opened and snapped closed in time to her words. The orange sock was not pleased.
"You walk in here, and you dare show your face, you unforgiving son of a pixie stick?!" the orange sock screeched back. Apparently they had some issues to work out...Kiseki only served as the middle man in their conflict. Soon enough, the purple sock figured out when he had overstayed his welcome, and made a swift exit. Kiseki pulled off the sock and threw it onto the floor.
"It looks like I'll be wearing orange socks for school tomorrow..." Kiki cooed to herself before shutting off her lamp. "Empyrean..." the girl whispered before closing her eyes.

"Empy. Rean. Empyrean." Kiseki was having a verbal battle with her ceiling and winning. The wall above sighed down at her lamely, with its peeling paint and dull color. Deciding that the war was over, Kiseki lolled to the side and hid under the covers. She yawned into her pillow. The girl was exhausted, but couldn't get to sleep. She knew she'd regret it in the morning, but her body just wouldn't calm down. Why so excited? You already picked out your clothes for tomorrow... The girl shot out of bed. Her feet wobbled as the hit the ground, and her head spun. Nevertheless, little Kiki dashed for her cellphone. The small rabbit charm jingled.
"...Hello? Ryuchi, it's Kiki! Hey, is this your voicemail?" she whispered into the phone.

[ Tasuku ] "Hmmm?" Ryuchi felt his phone vibrate and rolled over onto his back and sat up. Picking up the old and scratched up phone, he flipped it open and he saw the caller id. He looked at the name and thought for a moment before pressing ignore. Doesn't she know I have work early tomorrow and it's also my turn to do the laundry. With a sigh, Ryuchi plopped back onto bed and pulled the covers over his head. He tried going back to sleep but couldn't. His body felt restless now. I'll have to talk to her about these calls. Ryuchi slowly got up out of bed and quietly walked out of the room. He was careful not to rustle the curtain divider that separate his sister's territory from his.
Outside he couldn't stop but worry about Kiki. Usually she would call late at night if she was restless or if something happened. He knew this was going to affect him in the morning but he needed the night air to help calm his body. Taking out the old phone he texted message her to meet him by the library.

"Hey, hey, don't move like that or I might drop you." Ryuchi warned with a huge grin on his face. Walking down the street he carried her to the area she pointed to. There were houses on each side with their own garage. The boy looked at awe. He'd never seen houses like these. All the houses looked similar in comparison to one another. I've never seen homes like these. Heck, I've never been inside of one. It must be nice to live in one of these house - the weird thing is I don't feel intimidated at all..
"That's good to hear. You're really proud of them. So when are you going to get married?" He asked jokingly.
"That's your house," he said in awe. Noticing that only on the second story one window had the lights turned on. "I assume that's your room and that somehow they found out," he whispered in a low tone. "Shh."
Ryuchi took a few steps past the house to see if there was any way he could get Kiki inside without anyone seeing or hearing the two of them. I don't want to get her into trouble but if her parents see me they'll get the wrong idea. What should I do? I just have to hope that her parents didn't call the police.
Standing in front of the house the boy slowly let Kiki stand, holding her up so her legs could get used to the sudden weight shift. Looking towards the house Ryuchi tried to conjure up a plan.

"...I'll get married...when...all this fighting is over...and he won't be mad at me for having my name on my back. We have the same name, so you have the same dream, right?" Kiseki replied slowly. She was distracted by the moving shadows up in her room. Her eyes locked on the window, and she didn't feel when Ryuchi put her down. Her whole body froze on the spot. She pulled on her hoodie, and made sure to cover her head.
"I gotta sneak back in now..." the girl said rather unnecessarily. "I know you've got a plan, you've always got a plan...and if I get caught, tomorrow you're taking me out for ice cream..."
Kiki knwe that Ryu was always busy with work. She also knew he had a terrible weak spot for her. That was the thing about being a Sacrifice. Despite the title, and despite belonging to the other person...you were in total control.

"I...don't know. I've...never really thought about it." Ryuchi hesitated as he said this. He didn't want to make her sad but he also didn't want to lie to her, that's worse. "Our name, Empyrean, it doesn't bother me at all. I never really thought about the word but now...I think I'm beginning to like the name."
Ryuchi's thoughts wandered as he thought of a plan. Snapping back to reality, all Ryuchi heard was, "...if I get caught, tomorrow you're taking me out for ice cream." He gave Kiki a look saying, "I don't know if I have the money or the time. Why don't you visit me at the grocer's store I work in? I'm the baker there. I could make something for you." He was trying to negotiate with her but he had doubts that she would do with his idea. She can be...troublesome but she was also his Sacrifice.
Sighing, he pulled her to the side and pointed towards the back of the house. The boy didn't want to go with this plan but it may be the only way to get out of that...date.

Kiseki stared up at Ryuchi's hair. It blew in the wind slightly. It was funny how the wind made his hair appear neater than when he actually decided to comb it. The girl stamped her high top sneaker into the ground and declared confidently, "You like it because its our name. You're a drag." Kiseki looked on blankly for a few seconds before letting her gaze fall to the floor. Sometimes the poor girl just thought of so much in such a small amount of time that her brain just froze.
Looking towards the back of her house, Kiseki frowned a small little pout. “There’s a lock on the backdoor. You can take me inside and lie to my parents for me…” the girl offered mischievously to her Fighter. They both knew that it was the only way out of it. At least, that’s what Kiseki thought. “Knock, knock, knock on the door, pal,” she sang in her high pitched voice. “It’s a beautiful day, it’s a beautiful day…”

[Yeah, I have to study. I also have to remember the Spanish exam. Yeah...I have you as my hero but...it's only the outline of your head...I'm afraid of...errr....ruining the picture. hahahaha. Cloud's Angels ^^]
"I smoke? What?" He turned and looked back at her questioningly. He took so many of her words literally and it annoyed him sometimes.
"Lie?" A smirk formed on his face. Keeping a straight and neutral stare was something Ryuchi was good at. He returned the mischievous look right back at Kiseki. Somehow they both shared the same thought of deception.
Ryuchi walked towards the door. Meanwhile in his head a song started to play. It would keep him calm if any sense of nervousness arose.
And away we go
and I hope that you know
that one day, we will all be alone...
He slowly raised his arm and his hand into a fist. His fist made contact with the door and a loud sounds was emitted. The boy looked back at Kiseki and gave her a reassurring look then looked back at the door with plan in mind.

Kiseki yawned slightly into her hand. The girl stared blankly back at the chipping paint on her front door. The tiny girl kicked up her high top sneaker onto the sturdy door, causing the whole front of the house to tremble. "I'm strong," she spoke to the door now, not replying to Ryuchi's comments.
Nothing ever worried Kiseki. She always took life as it came; never really bothering to care about the details. It made her stand out from other people easily. In truth, the only thing Kiki ever worried about was fading in with the rest of the world.
"Purple looks good with green," she said as an attempt to strike up conversation before her father appeared at the door.
"Smiiillle..."

Ryuchi stayed silent as the girl kicked against the door. The force of sneaker against door released a shockwave of a sound that shook the front of the house. After the first initial shock he looked toward Kiki and gave her a look of deprecation.
He knew that this made things worse than it was. What with the both of them together late at night, and the clothes the both of them were wearing would make a parent get the wrong idea.
Floating in dangerous waters, Ryuchi knew deception was the only way to go. The only problem: he based it more on twisted logic and reasoning than true cunning and lies. Logic and reasoning wasn't going to work in this situation. His mind floundered in his thoughts and plans as he felt a small gust of wind escape from within the house brush past his body, cooling it even further.
"Hello." The voice was strong, rough, yet raspy. Looking up, his eyes met the eyes of her father.

"Do you have any idea what the hell time it is, Kensuke?!" Kiseki demanded of her father. She pressed her hands against her hips, only doing more to prove how skinny the small girl actually was. Her eyebrows knitted together, Kiseki pushed her father harshly back into the house. The man sighed with relief that the girl was at least okay. However much his daughter could be defined as "okay."
"Kiki. This isn't...jeez...what's the matter with you, Kiseki?" the young man ran a hand through his messy hair. He placed his heavy hands on the small teen's shoulders, and looked back towards the door at Ryu. "Sorry. I don't know who on Earth you are, but since she still has ears on her head, you can go get some sleep." Shrugging, Kiki's father blinked a few times to clear his blurry vision. He nodded his head, before curtly closing the front door. The door knob clicked with the lock.
"Goin ta work in da mornin, pops?" the girl asked, noticing his want for sleep. "Kinda," he replied sternly. Their muffled voices soon faded, and the lights flicked off, till the house and the rest of the block went pitch dark.

Ryuchi watched Kiseki and her father talk only nodding once to Kensuke's words towards him. He left after the father closed and locked the door. The stars still shone brightly against the dark blue sky while the street lights dimmed. The boy silently and quickly strode back home his feet sore as they pounded, bare skin against pavement. "Tonight was an adventure."
Finally the boy reached the apartment and sneaked inside without making much noise as to stir his sleeping sister. He carefully stole into bed placing his cellphone under his pillow. It's going to be a long day tomorrow. Ryu sighed before his thoughts wandered into a deep abyss.
