Background: Mia came from a well-to-do family. One would think she'd have stayed, but the life was too restricting for her. And her parents wished her to marry someone they wanted her to. But she didn't want to marry. And she wanted to be free from their restrictions and the restrictions of women in the society she lived. So when she turned 16, she ran away, spending her nights in various places, working when she needed the money.
RP's with Nyx: Mia joined the pirate crew of the Siren when she was 18. She rose up in the ranks to join the Captain as her second-in-command. Yeah, that's it. I may need to speak with Kallysto for anything more indept.
Prophecy of the Keys/RP's without Nyx: When Mia was 18, she joined the pirate crew captained under Adrian Snow. As with all pirate crew's, it was a hard life. Until she offered something to him the other crew members couldn't: Her. She became his 'whore', if you will. Women were hard to come by, at times. Mia was the only female crew on board.
She served under Captain Snow for two years, before simply up and leaving. She'd grown tired of being ordered around. Wanted to crew her own ship. So she returned to one of the pirate towns and gathered up her own crew. Of all women.
Over the years, she started making a name for herself. People called her crew "Amazons of the Sea." After she lost her first ship in a battle, she named her second the Amazon.
Mia is perhaps one of the most legendary and talked about pirates of her Era. Her skills as a thief and fighter are well known, as is her unusual hair and crew.
