I personally think that this is set far into the future, not just because it looks like it is, but listen: Theres a new evil threat, far into the future, so sora, riku,ect. are all dead. All those keyblades are graves to the keyblade masters that have tried to fight it but failed. Now the three chasers ( the keyblade makers) are everyones final hope, and they must use the ledgendary keyblades to save everyone ( Sora's). Its just a theory, but it could be wrong.
keep in mind these are possible theories.
Also according to reading the Ansem Reports it could be a prequel to KH and KH2. And the fact that Ansem the Wise found Xehanort hurt and confused (he lost his memories). So maybe they're gonna reveal what happened to Xehanort BEFORE he met Ansem the Wise?
another possibility is that it could be the children of Sora, Riku, and Kairi.

This is something i dug up from khinsider.com on the tetsuya nomura interview: Who are the 3 armoured people? "Those 3 are completely new people who haven't shown up at all. In fact, I've already thought of their names. Back when I was making that movie, I only had their settings but now I've even drawn their faces to give myself a clearer image of them."
So from this interview it's possible that it could be the children of Sora, Riku, and Kairi and/or just three new faces.

Question: someone refresh my memory and tell me if Sora sealed Kingdom Hearts at the end of KH2 *i can't remember and my brain is sooooo tired* and if so the title can't be called Kingdom Hearts according to Nomura (creator) but maybe a different title. *rumored to be called Keyblade War in Japan*
