"Oh where, oh where has my little dog gone? Oh where, oh where can he beeeeee?" Nick tossed his head as he sang the children's song he had learned before coming to Azale. He trotted his way forward through the sand, looking back at each step he took. Every time his hoof lifted, the sand immediately piled back to cover his tracks until all that was left were tiny dents in the sea of dryness. He shook his head as yet another hoofprint was covered and then trotted on, his fancy tack that was imprinted with the word 'Gryffindor' and a roaring lion swung as he made his way happily through the camp.
Today was going to be a good day, he could feel it. The sun shone, but there were enough clouds in the blue, blue sky to offer shade and it wasn't stuffy with heat. He peered up at the blue expanse that filled his vision and snorted appreciatively, swishing his tail. Yes, today would be a good day indeed.

Mera snorted lightly as a bit of dust flew into her face by fault of a stray breeze. She shook her head and trotted through the camp with every intention of getting out of said camp and going for a run or a swim at the oasis...and perhaps she would find Nick on her way there. She smiled to herself lightly. Nick...one meeting and she was lost to everything else....no one could ever make her change her mind about the gentlemen stallion who had made her feel liek never before.

"Dust!" Nick sneezed and threw himself to the side as he did, shaking his head angrily. Stupid desert. Already the day was beginning to look bleaker than he had imagined. Until... "Mera..." He tilted his head as a scent wafted toward him. He had thought the day would be perfect, but he had far from imagined this. It was Mera! He hadn't thought he might be able to find Mera today, although why he didn't know. But now she was nearby, he knew, and suddenly he was happier than before tenfold.

Mera smiled lightly to herself before a thought flashed through her mind that made her blush even then Nick was not beside her nor could he have read her thoughts even if he was. She had barely known him, that was true, but she was indeed in love...and...her mind had wandered to a family...She smiled lightly through the blush.

He could play tracker if he needed to, and now he followed his nose along, changing course whenever Mera's scent started to fade, and finally... He could see a familiar shape some distance away. There she was, standing there. The stallion stopped a moment to watch her. So beautiful was she that he knew no other mare would ever be able to make him feel the same. That loopy happiness he felt whenever she was near.
He trotted forward, tossing his head eagerly.

Mera flicked her tail, about to continue onward to the oasis when somthing in her caused her to look behind her. She blinked at first before a smile spread on her face. "Nick!" she called, turning and running up to meet him half way. She stoped in front of him and just stared at him, a soft smile on her mouth. He was so handsome...so incrediably handsome....

"Mera!" The stallion grinned as they met, stretching his muzzle out in greeting. She was beauty beyond compare, and he felt himself almost drowning in his joy at seeing her again. "I knew today was going to be a good day," He said with a chuckle. Only, he had completely underestimated the 'good' part.

Mera smiled and moved a few steps closer, nuzzling him. She simply smiled before taking a step back and watching him. "Yes, i definatly think it will be. I am so glad i found you Nick, i've been thinking about you. about us as well..." she moved to stand beside him.

"Us?" He echoed with a smile. "Like us going down to the oasis for a drink, perhaps?" He suggested with a chuckle. It seemed a perfect enough day for it. And besides Mera had looked like she had been en route for the oasis before he had appeared, and it seemed a shame to waste the way she had traveled.

She nodded and smiled. "yes...and other things. But other htings can wait till we are at the oasis." she nuzzled him lightly and then gentlely leaned against him. "I really am glad i ran into you..." she said ernestly as she looked up at him.

"Oh?" Nick said with a smile. But he nodded in agreement. "Then we can keep talking at the oasis," He said, starting out into a trot.

Mera followed after him, keeping pace. "You were correct in saying i was going to the oasis, but where where you heading off to?" she asked, looking at him.

Nick thought for a moment. Where had he been heading off to? He shook his head. "Anywhere, I guess," He said eventually with a wide smile. On a good day like today, he liked to prance and dance wherever his legs took him and simply wander and have a good time in the sunshine. But he had never quite thought to go down to the oasis once in a while.

"Trying to get lost?" she smiled at him. THey neared the oasis and she smiled, tho her face blushed lightly as the thoughts she had been thinking earlier re-surfaced.

"If lost means finding you," Nick answered promptly with a cheeky grin. His stride lengthened slightly as the oasis neared and the inviting thought of the cool watered entered his mind. The water and the shade, it was all so tempting that he found himself wondering why in the world he had never even thought to visit it before.
