This tome (old book) contains information on various species in this world. Some are relatively new, others date back to the beginning of time.
Human: They are the most common race. Generally, humans are seen as "jacks of all trades". Some are immensly strong, while others use their intelligence to aid them. Some humans are capable of magic, and other ancient arts they learn from their research.
Elvish: Elves are similar to humans, though they are born elementally. Some are neutral, some are darker, and some are light. All are equal. They are generally more lithe and fair in appearance, though Dark Elves can sometimes look very strong and brutish. Most elves excel in magic and using their senses, and generally have a longer lifespan than that of humans.
Faery: Full-grown, faeries are about the size of a 4 foot child, and often confused for a child. Though cute by nature, they can be extremely tricky and will often change their size to help with their trickery. Most faeries can be helpful to others, but some enjoy causing mayhem.
Sprites: Often confused with Faeries, sprites are usually small and lithe, but do not have wings. They are very elementally based, none are ever neutral. They tend to live with few of their kind in the wilderness.
Naga: A human with the lower body of a snake. Nagas come in all varieties, and are often neutral. When a Naga is born with an elemental attribute, they become a serpent of that element. Some Nagas enjoy the hot sands of the desert, while some prefer the shade of the jungle, and some even have adapted to live underwater with the Merpeople and Merrow.
Merpeople: A Human with the lower-body of a fish. They are a very gentle and playful people who reside underwater, but often come to the shores to mingle with humans. Some Merpeople even have the ability to change their lower-body into legs for a limited time (Usually 1-5 hours) so that they may walk upon land.
Merrow: These sea-dwellers resemble humans except they have aquatic attributes all over. They can either live on the land or in the water, but they prefer watery places to live. They have divine singing voices, and because of them the legend of the Siren was born.
Dwarves: Shorter and stubbier than a human, but with a thicker skin and better crafting skills. These fellows love to be underground and many work in the mines or help take care of things in Lutia.
Vampire: Most think of the vampire as an evil entity bent on taking the life of others to live. While Vampires do need blood to survive, they rarely kill their victims. Many vampires who live outside of Lutia have human mates who let them take blood when they need it. Unlike popular myth, Vampires do not burn in the sunlight (Though they do dislike being in it) and garlic, crucifixes, and silver do nothing to them. In fact, in Ludia there is a famous vampire cook who specializes in garlic dishes. Iroooony!
Lycanthrope: Werewolves, basically. Most can change at will. Some are uncaring of other races, while others like to cause mayhem. They usually reside in the Twilight Forest or the Dark Grounds.
Centaur: A human with the lower body of a horse. Those without wings are more bulkier and steadfast than those with wings, who are more lithe in appearance. Centaurs usually live in the Weeping Woods, or in the grasslands where they can run. Many of them develop a serious case of wander-lust, and travel to many places. Usually they are very playful people.
Dragon: A human with the lower body of a Dragon. This is the basic state of a Dragon, though they can change their appearance to be more human (But still retain dragon features) or they can become their full dragon form. As Dragons age, they develop their wings. They are very strong, even if they don't look it, and have an obsession with shining objects like gold and jewels. Some are elemental, but many are neutral.
Unicorn: Like dragons, they can change their form into a full unicorn, or their human form. Their human form retains their fetlocks and they are usually very pale with a sort of sheen to them. They are a graceful people, very serene and harmonious, and many have extremely honed healing abilities.
Spirits: They are ghosts of those once alive, some neutral, others malicious. Some spirits even turn into familiars. Some aren't aware that they are dead, and those usually turn into malicious ghosts. The ones who are aware remain behind to complete tasks they didn't do in life.
Moon people: Those who reside in the sky city, which from Asgard, is often seen as a second moon. They are usually pale or grey skinned, and are an ancient race.
Nymphs: Often called 'Pocket Goddesse' or 'Dark Goddesses' for those who are dark elements. They are natural born trickers, but are hardly malicious. Their sorcery is top-notch, and they excel at shapeshifting as well. They, like sprites, are very elemental, but Nymphs are more 'genie' like, and will assist others for a price.

heyo im posting a suggestion and the kitsune descript
Kitsune are a fox race with human-like structure. They are very agile and flexible. Kitsune have great intelligence and cunning, but it's mostly wasted on trickery. In myth, Kitsune may have up to 9 tails in which their age and wisdom increases with the more tails they have, but this has been proven untrue. Kitsune are usually neutral, but many of their pranks are considered sinister by the other races.
Kappa These strange amphibious humanoids, are like a mix between a frog and a tortoise. They have webbed hands and feet, allowing them to swim with incredible speeds and scaly skin to protect them from the cold waters. The kappas of old were said to have craters in thier head, surrounded by hair, that held water. The water was to keep them alive so they can walk on land, but through natural evolution they have grown almost transparent shells over the hole so it is impossible for them to lose thier water. They are trouble makers, but the strange water dwelling people have the biggest sense of etiquette in the world. Their only known colors are yellow, green, and blue.
meh the Kappa one is a little long
