Ok since I am doing a paper on this for college english I thought I would bring this subject up.
I know there has been alot of talk about it, but I wanna know what you people think?
Is it really happening?
Do we need to start making some changes to help prevent it?
Do we even have any control over it happening or not?
How will it effect us?
and other such questions.

It IS happening. Every time I visit Japan or LA, I'm hotter. xp teehee, okay seriously.
It is affecting us. A recent focus group, sponsored by our government if I can recall correctly, said that there was a 90% chance that global warming was real and that it would our fault.
As far as changes though, all we can truly do is slow down the process. Global warming is, in theory, a part of our natural rythm of life on Earth. There is good evidence to suggest that Global warming killed the Dinosaurs caused by a natural tilting of the Earth and a waver just a tad too close to the sun.
However, with our constant use of fossil fuels and other things (such as nuclear explosions) have erroded away at our ozone, the stuff that keeps most of the bad parts of the sun out. Our margin for how close we can exist to the sun is shrinking.

Of course it's happening! I'm sure it's also helping to cause a shift in the seasons! I've noticed it over here... The Summer weather is coming later, and so is the Winter weather. We have to all try our best, we only have 10 years max before we're gone too far!
Doomsday scenario: If the ice caps melt and the temp of the sea rises to a certain level, methane gas that's trapped will be released, screwing up the atmosphere more, and causing the seas to actually boil. Nice.

I do think it's happening. That's why the growing seasons and winter are sometimes off. The government wants to ignore it.

.Punk.Polka.Dots. The government wants to ignore it. I agree unless you are implying that they don't care because they're the government. I think a lot of people would like to believe that global warming isn't happening. It's very uncomfortable.

Akiru chan Ok since I am doing a paper on this for college english I thought I would bring this subject up.

Is it really happening?
Do we need to start making some changes to help prevent it?
Do we even have any control over it happening or not?
How will it effect us?
and other such questions. You know, I actually had to do the same thing for a research paper in my college writing class. That's funny, lol. I just handed it in. If you don't mind saying, where do you go to college? If you don't wish to say, I understand.

Many people (like my parents and half my school) don't believe global warming is happening. That's kind of... unsettling, knowing that the earth just warmed up by what, 2 degrees? And a whole bunch of the ice caps melted and the penguins are having problems down in Antarctica becauase all the ice is melting.

I say it's a myth created by Algor I mena obviously the temperature is going to rise over the years, but we can't prevent the inevitable just delay it for a short while so why even bother?
