It's raining, and it's dark. The sound of horse-shoes can be heard on the cobblestone outside, as well as the wooden wheels of a carriage.
Those noises stop, and then footsteps join the rain outside, and then knocking on an oak door.
"I didn't think that you would make it!" The girl cried, smiling at the young man in the door. "Please come in, you're getting terribly wet!"
"Thank you, Kunogi-san... Congratulations on your marriage." The young man adjusted his glasses and smiled weakly as he stepped into the door, "I just don't understand, why you married him instead of..."
"That's not my last name anymore, silly, but call me Kiku-chan anyway, Kasumi-kun. And, you're not still upset about that, are you?" Kiku asked, frowning at him. "I had thought you were a little more grown-up." Hana teased.
Kasumi blushed, "Um, well, it's not that...it's just that..."
"It's just what?" Another man stepped out from the shadows and looked towards Kasumi.
"Doumeki-kun..." Kasumi muttered, glaring at the boy.
"Watanuki-kun, we invite you to our home and all you do is shout. That's so like you."
"Hey! I wasn't shouting until just now!"
Kiku laughed, "You two are still such good friends, even after all these years. Oh! Otonashi, you should show Kasumi-kun around the house, while I go put some tea on. It's raining really bad, and Kasumi-kun has traveled far." Without another word Kiku left the room.
"I don't want you to show me around the house." Kasumi muttered, folding his arms defiantly over his chest.
"Fine then. It's good to see you too, Watanuki-kun." Otonashi rolled his eyes at his old companion and left the room, expecting Kasumi to follow.
Kiku hummed lightly as she worked in the kitchen. "I know. I'll make something to eat as well!" Kiku said, "Though, I've never been good at cooking...that was always Kasumi-kun's job." Kiku picked up the knife and began to cut up some fruit. She then placed the knife down on the table and set about the tea. When she came back, she noticed something was wrong.
"Where did that knife go? I thought I put it right here."
"That stupid Doumeki-kun. Granted, it was an arranged marriage, but still." Kasumi muttered, folding his arms across his chest. He went to take a step after Otonashi when something stopped him. Kasumi tensed and he whirled around.
"Who's there?" Kasumi asked.
A cold breeze threw the door open and circled the room before gathering into a sort of oozing shape before Kasumi.
Kasumi fell to his knees and began to cough, "No!" He choked out, "Why...here...Doum--"
"Sh." Came an echoing voice from the being before Kasumi. "I know what you want." It hissed, "I can get it for you." The being produced a knife from the depths of its innards and held it towards him. "Everything you've ever wanted will be yours."
Kasumi shook his head. "No!" He said, attempting to stand up, but only succeding in falling back to the floor.
"What a pity...I had thought this would have been easier." The being launched itself at Kasumi, enveloping it in some sort of black smoke, before it disappeared entirely, leaving only a very still Kasumi on the floor.
Kasumi pushed himself up off of the floor and held the knife in his hands and he made his way towards the kitchen.
"Oh, Watanuki-kun! You know, I was just thinking--Watanuki-kun? Wata...Otonashi!" Kiku screamed and fell to the floor. Dead.
Otonashi ran into the room and faltered upon seeing Kasumi hovering over his dead wife. "What the hell do you think you're-" Otonashi paused and stared at Kasumi for a minute, "Let go of Watanuki-kun." Otonashi charged at the possesed boy.
Kasumi turned and swung his arm, killing Otonashi in an instant. "Tch." The spirit released itself from Kasumi's body and watched as Kasumi stared in horror at the bloody knife in his hands, and his dead friends on the floor.
"This is what you wanted."
"No!" Kasumi said, glancing frantically from one body to the next. "No, this...this can't be! Why...!" Kasumi threw the knife at the spirit, knowing full well that it would do him no good. The spirit merely laughed as the knife turned around and stabbed it's thrower, killing him instantly.
Quick footsteps walked through the main room of the house and entered the kitchen. A tall black-haired woman stood in the room, her hand outstretched. "I will fulfil the wish of what he really wanted." The woman said, a bit of an edge in her voice.
Magical energy spread from her palm and wrapped around the being, causing it to melt away into nothing. The woman stared at the spot where the spirit had been before, and then down at the three corpses.
"The price is this." The woman picked up a knife and held it between her fingers. "A special knife this is." The woman sighed as she left the home and walked down the street. As she disappeared down an alley a crowd of people gathered around the home.
The top detectives of the time declared that Kasumi Watanuki killed Kiku Doumeki and Otonashi Doumeki, the married couple of 4 months. It was then claimed that Kasumi killed himself after seeing what he had done. The case was closed.

"No! No, no, no!" Watanuki cried, slapping his hands over his ears and shaking his head. "Just because it's summer break, doesn't mean you have to fill my head with every creepy ghost story you know, Yuko-san!"
"But, it's just too fun to see Watanuki get scared!" Yuko cried, smirking at the boy as Maru, Moro and Mokona danced around him. "Besides, how do you know if that was a story or not?" Yuko smiled mysteriously before a knock was heard at the door.
"Hai!" Watanuki called, grateful for any excuse to leave this torment. The boy ran to the door and opened it.
"Is there a Yuko Ichihara here?" The woman asked, her voice quiet and faint.
Watanuki stared at the woman for a minute. When the woman began to look uncomfortable, Watanuki apologized, "I'm sorry, you just look like a friend of mine. Yes, follow me."
After about thirty minutes the woman left, and Yuko appeared and clapped Watanuki on the back. "We're going on a road trip, Watanuki!" Yuko cried. "Be sure to call Doumeki and Himawari to let them know!"
"A...road trip...?"
