Anrui Ruurin lies at the edge of the town. An old growth forest, it has the feel of ages go by and the dark stillness of time never moved. The trees hang heavy with unwhispered secrets. The air under their protective branches sits still and heavy. Even with a strong wind the trees do not move. It often seems in the forever twilight of the forest that time has no hold here. Rain does not touch the thick undergrowth and the sun only passingly.
The creatures here bear the same markings of a timeless era. Boars grow to twice their normal size and deer a remarked intellengence. Wolves and many of the other animal have the same traits. There is also the whispered rumors of demons. If you sit still enough and are pure of heart you may glimce of a unicorn. All sound stops when the monsters are around. Many springs exist here as well. Some hot, some cold, some that heal, and others still that kill.
It is called the forest of silent tears for a reason. Deep in the forest, past all the springs, all the demons, and past all the other monsters that guard the way, lies a small ruin. In the center of these ruins sits a statue. The moss and undergrowth and claimed much of the ruins but let this statue alone. The fungus and molds have left the statue of the young maiden alone. The trees themselves do not dare grow around it, leaving a small stream of light that illumatenates the Tears that stream down the statue's face. These tears grant enternal life. The problem is getting there.
Can you survive?

Siori came to the edge of the forest. She knew that it was dangerous to be here but at the moment she needed that adrenaline rush. Going in she remained aware. Walking slowly through the dense underbrush it took only seconds before she was in the dark. Taking out a small light she used her energy to light it and kept going. When she heard the sound off to her right she took no chances quickly drawing her sword.
The beast was huge, she immediately reckognized it as a wolf. 'Right off the bat I fight one of your family Ri, how nice.' she thought remembering her brother. The wolf rushed toward her as she threw her light to the side. It stuck in the ground illuminating the area. That's when she saw the eyes areound her. 'More of them!'
She brought her sword up stopping the first as it tried to bite her. The sword cut through it's mouth severing the head, and killing the beast. At that moment three more rushed forward she managed to avoid two wounding them both by cutting into their sides. The third was almost upon her as she shoved off from the second, bringing her sword up she was ready to block it.

I had been napping in a tree not too far away. The trees I was sleeping in was taller than most of the others ones so I got a nice bit of sun. The air bit with cold but the sun took away the sting. I smiled and almost fell out when I heard the commontion below. I lept down to see Siori in a spot of trouble. The wolves would not notice me because I smelled like the forest but they would her. "Hey Siori-san you look like you are in a spot of bother. You need help?"

"It would be welcome." she said gritting her teeth as she threw another beast back. "They came out of nowhere." she said leaping back as another four ran towards them.

I smiled. "Then you might want to stay back." I lept down from the tree and snarled. My hair bristled and my posture was stiff. All the wolves stopped. I snarled again and a few dropped to their backs, bellies in the air. Only three didn't.

Siori watched on in awe. 'That would make life easy' "Since when can you do that?" she asked her stepping back a little ways but staying alert.

I was in a part of the forest I have never seen before, the ground seemed darker and the air was thick with hate and malice. I couldn't help but be drawn to it. "Shall you show yourself to me or shall I be forced to draw you out?" I couldn't say exactly what it was but I felt something in a farther part of the forest. I decided to leave this area for another day and went to this presence. I emerged from a particularly dense patch of undergrowth to find two women among a pack of wolves. I remained in the shadows, not wanting to disturb the show. For extra security I wove a concealment around myself.

I smiled at Siori, "I just smell like them. The other three though I will leave to you. Or at least two of them." On of the other wolves dropped, not being able to stand up to me any longer. "I am dominate to them."

I sat among my undergrowth and watched as this mere child held back that entire pack of wolves. "Impressive." I wispered to myself.

Siori leapt to the side as one of the two remaining wolves sprang towards her. With a downward slash of her sword he was dead. The remaing wolf stayed back. Siori went to Loa's side, her sword still at ready, "Thanks again for helping me."

I released the concealment and rose from the undergrowth. "Impressive display of power, young one."

I just stood calmly off to one side watching the exchange. "It was not a display of power. It just is." Chidori landed lightly on my shoulder chirping in agreement. I didn't view myself as that young anyway.
