About You! Well, I live in Alaska. I know, how boring and cold, right? Besides drawing like the maniac I am, I also enjoy writing, reading, hanging out with my friends and drinking tea or coffee! Fascinating! I also love most animals.
Well, I like to think that I have a little bit more of a cultured appreciation for music than most other kids at my high school, and I love Bright Eyes, David Bowie, The Blood Brothers, CAKE, Cursive, R.E.M., Tool, The Mamas and the Papas, and Billy Idol.
One of my favorite books is definitely FIIGHT CLUB! I also quite enjoy everything by J.D. Salinger, Mark Haddon, and Glen Duncan.
As for TV shows, I'm a Law & Order fanatic. I crave that show 24/7. It's bad. I also enjoy lots of the Masterpiece Theatre productions on PBS, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Seinfeld, The Office, and Scrubs.
My favorite movie of all time is American History X! I also liked Fight Club (S-shut up, I can heart Edward Norton as much as I like!), Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Donnie Darko, Pleasantville, and Finding Neverland. I also am a big fan of Miyazaki! I've seen a nice chunk of his films but not all.
Artistic Inspirations? A whole lot! I really love almost all Greek, Roman, Baroque and Renaissance sculptures! And no, it's not entirely because their all naked boys, I promise!
Specific artists though, I adore Gustav Klimt, G-Goyyya, Alphonse Mucha, Aubrey Beardsley, Ingres, Ralph Steadman, and Dali.

So I'm basically just wasting my time in senior year, waiting for college because high school is pretty boring. I will probably be going to MCAD to major in illustration and/or comic art!
But hey, it's all good. I do like movies and music, but probably too many to list here without breaking brains reading all of it. Pretty much anything alternative, indie rock, a little bit of electronic in there works. I have a soft spot for foreign love stories and animated sci-fi and fantasy.
I also enjoy comics and video games and trying to throw bits of paper into people's cups from the second floor of the mall.

My favorite artists are Mike Mignola, Craig Thompson, and Joann Sfar.

Like Russian music, holy crap I love any kind of Russian music, I could even stand Russian rap if I was listening to it. Books: I don't read fast so I only get the chance to read school-related stuff ._. sadness. Like romance books though, even if I'm not much of a romantic myself. Movies/TV/Cartoons/anime I enjoy: as far as movies go, I love ******** like Fight Club and Donnie Darko (yay), other than that I don't watch any TV or cartoons. I'm a harder otaku though, used to watch anime all the time. Love FushigiYugi(maybe my style was developed off of it a bit) and Fruits Basket was good as well, though I've watched the whole series like five times so I'm kind of bored. Still love anime, just don't watch it very often. Other: I love circus! I go to circus school for tissu and aerial training, work on contortion at home and perform contortion during the summer for extra money. Artistic Inspirations? Uhm, I don't really look up to too many artists aside from maybe Klar from DA, but my art isn't inspired from her. Some of my style is inspired by the old Disney 2D works, those are pretty much amazing. Not planning to go to school for art, but if I could land a job with disney or pixar, or somewhere for annimation, life would be grand, however unlikely that'll be.

Age: 18 Art Site/Gaia Store: I'm yagi-sempai on DeviantART, and my not-so-frequently-updated sketchblog is here. About Me: I'm currently in first year university, in the illustration program at OCAD. All of my classmate's work rocks really hard so I sometimes find it difficult to keep up. As for music, I'll listen to almost anything, and if I really like it I will put it on repeat for days--much to the dismay of anyone working near me. I'm presently listening to the soundtrack of The Matrix. I haven't been watching a lot of anime lately, but when I do pick it up again I'll be watching Naruto and Bleach, since they are now un-filler-iffic. My favourite movie is The Name of the Rose, and it's about monks and murder mystery with Sean Connery and Christian Slater. What artists inspire me? It's hard to say, I'm inspired by a lot of things. There are not really any artists in particular that I go to for inspiration, but I can say for sure that I'm almost always inspired by the work of the people I'm watching on DA. 3nodding

It is constantly updated to annoy you with oekaki scribbles, smudged artfully shaded pencil drawings, and the occassional Real Piece About You! Hi guys! A lot of you know me. Or sort of know me. Or have a mutual acquaintance. I'm Jessi! I'm 20, and I took driver's ed, but I stopped driving so I just relearned how! Just in time to get an ID so I can do what I really want to do with my life: be a drunken, angry hack who starts fistfights at cocktail parties. (Not really. Not yet.) I have an associates degree, but I am now taking the semester off before I go to a four year school to get my bachelors, because I cannot get to school because I cannot drive! Here are some diversions I use to pass time: Music (Mew, The Weakerthans, Tom Waits, The Decemberists, etc.), TV (Posh Nosh, House M.D.), video games (Final Fantasy, when I remember to play it), the internet, David Tennant Artistic Inspirations? Well, you can't always tell from my art, but I adora Alphonse Mucha, and I want to be more like him every day. Also various cool manga artists have inspired me in the past, like Yayoi Ogawa, Kazusa Takashima, and some shonen artists I cannot name right now.

I lurves drawing [DUH], music [not generally picky with stuff, as long as it sounds good and doesn't rape my ears], origami/paper doohicky crafts, sewing, crocheting & knitting, graphic arts [designing stuff for buttons, posters, stationary], photography, bright and shiny objects...or basically anything I can do with my hands and/or Photoshop.
I hart the following TV shows: Crossing Jordan, Scrubs, [the occasional] Simpsons, Law & Order CI, Heroes, That 70s Show, Bones...[I don't have cable, so anything on the 5 channels we have pleases me. xD;;]
