PLOT:

After Kandal, the now late King of the High Elven Kingdom, left to find his roots with the Wood Elves of the forest (in his attempt to unite all the races of elves), has now left the seat vacant. Of course, any male sibling or relative would take the throne. However, no others existed; Terryll had no brothers, sisters or cousins etc. and had not yet produced an heir since he had not been expected to have left. His only relative was his "step" mother.

Of course two teams were sent after him, two of them led by generals, one being General Kiyara, to bring him back and hopefully regain order to the Kingdom. However, it has now been several weeks since the away teams have been sent and the council has become restless, for they have been without a leader for quite sometime. Not only that, but the citizens of the capital have also become paranoid for they fear anarchy: the people need order.

Elections began being held and an heir was about to be picked when the remnants of the first away team, led by the General ____ returned. They had come across Kandal in one of the villages of the Wood Elves. Of course, they had attacked. However, they were terribly beaten and now had returned; the general had been killed in battle. News also had it that General Kiyara and his men were at the Drow Kingdom (which had once been the capital of the Elvish Race before the Great Seperation); all that entered never left.

Angered by the Wood Elves (believing they were holding Kandal captive) began to form an army to launch an attack on the Wood Elves. (Even though they had been at war for many years, the battle had died down to that of a cold war. But this battle had opened up old wounds).

As the High Elves build their army, the Wood Elves also prepare for the worst, building their own army in belief that they would soon be attacked by the High Elven Army. Meanwhile, Kandal, Anima (a wood elf) and Allindra (A Drow) are within the Kingdom of the Drows. As Kandal prepares to fight the King of the Drows (who he has found to be his father), the Drow Leader, who is a Wood Elf, prepares his men to launch an attack on the High Elves (unknown to them) because of Kiyara and his desperate attempts to save Terryll and Anima from his grasp. This will be the first time the Drow Army will launch an attack ouside the power of the Jahine Shrine....

Because of the upcomming battle with the Wood Elves, a temperary ruler has been brought to power to control the High Elves during battle: The young Rindolus, a member of the High Council. However, many are displeased with him becomming "King" since he is so young. Wll there be a rebellion during the battle with the Wood Elves?

Character Name: Rindolus
Race: High Elf
Position: Temperory "King"/Steward
Biography: Rindolus has been apart of the High Elven High Council for quite sometime. At a young age Rindolus had shown his abilties of a High Elf as being more advanced than even the Elders. When he was still young, about 13 in humzn years, Rindolus became quite fond of debating and soon found himself speaking of political views with the High Priests (few had the ability to do so). Before he even entered man-hood, Rindolus was given a position on the High Council, where he has stayed in the shadows, giving his opinions.

Only as of late, ever since Kandal disappared, did he begin to show himself and his powers. His need for power began to grow (since he now had a shot at becomming King) and did everything in his power to be recognized. And, within weeks of the disappearance of Kandal, Rindolus was asked to become a Steward or a temperory King for the battle which the High Council had decided on taking part in with the Wood Elves. Of course, he took the position and now is ready to show the people what he is capable of.

Talen stood at the castle gate looking up at the castle that currently held the new king. Head high she walked through the gates like a true high elf. She had always been one by birth as she knew but she didn't grow up a high elf. She quickly ascended the steps that led to the castle doors and looked in an annoyed fashion at the guard that blocked her way. "I'm here to see the king" she said matter of factly.
"Do you have an appointment" he asked and she just glowered at him thinking in her mind that if he didn't move he would have one very soon.
As he watched her he probably got the hint about what she was thinking and said hurriedly "Right this way" he stepped aside and pushed open the door for her to walk through then sent someone to fetch Rindolus while Talen waited patiently.

((well, here is a horrible post... but I hope you all enjoy it anyway lol))

Upon the throne the new king sat, his eyes looking upon the royal hall with bored satisfaction. He had waited for this day for quite sometime; all his hard work had finally paid off; all of his intelligence could now be recognized by the people who had looked down upon him for so long. But now that he had it, he almost felt as though there was nothing else to live for. Of course, he was only to be King for a short period of time, or for the remainder of time the War between them and the Wood Elves lasted. And when the war ended, he would lose his seat and would be cast back down into the pits of the High Council where he would have to serve under another; he would serve under one who was not as skilled in the art of leadership as he was. He could not have that. Not just because it was demeaning to him, but because it was demeaning to his very race. He loved what he was (even though he believed that many who were High Elven did not deserve that title) and did not want it to be tarnished.

That was why he was going to have the battle last for quite sometime; he was going to make it iimpossible for the war to be short. In fact, he hoped that it would last for years until everyone forgot that he was just a Steward and would soon give him the full title of "Your Majesty". That was definately his plan and it was a plan that would not fail. He would be able to govern a species which he believed to be higher than anyother elf and he would rid that species of the filth that did not deserve to be of the same kin as himself. They would all be either the overly kind and generous, the weak Wood Elves or the barbarious, savage Drows, who now hid within the Jahine Shrine, rotting in their own pathetic waste. Yes, he would remove the filth from within his Kingdom and would re-live the dream of the High Elves and re-take what the Drows had taken from them. But first, the Wood Elves were going to have to be taken out of the picture and that was not going to be a problem.

As Rindolus sat, lost in his thoughts, two guards came walking in, immediately falling to their knees as soon as his eyes had fallen upon them. For a moment they stayed there before they finally rose to their full height, their eyes staring at the ground before them. "Your Stewardship, one of your citizens wishes to speak with you. I believe it is about the war which we are about to embark on..." Upon hearing those words, the High Elf sighed quite loudly, his eyes rolling in his sockets before they fell back down upon the two guards, who kept their eyes from his own. When he responded, his dull and lifeless voice left his lips, falling upon the ears of those that served him. "And why should I speak with her? She may go to the High Council if she wishes, to discuss matters such as these. Not just anyone can speak with me. You must know this. Kandal was a weak King; he allowed anyone to come near him, but that just damaged his image. It made him look like a commoner. And we all know what kind of King he was... he was a Wood Elf, which explains his need to be amongst commoners. No, I do not wish to speak with her..."

Sable stepped out of the smithing hut, being a bit seperate from the main village. She wiped her arm on her forehead, pulling the sweat off. Her appearance resembled a drow, now having soot all over her. She had finally cleaned out the oven, after cooling off the coals.

The girl shivered slightly, coming out into the cooler air. She looked up to the sun, "Man... I can't believe he does that to me..." She stretched, pulling her arms up. She gave out a yawn and headed towards the lake. She took careful steps, being careful of the bugs in the grass.

She stopped by the lake, picking up a wooden bucket she kept there. She dipped the bucket into the water, gathering some water and pulling it up over her head. She tipped the bucket, letting the water run over her body.

Sable gave out a content sigh, feeling her short onyx colored hair cling to her cheeks. She placed the bucket on the ground as she sat next to it, "Much better..." She looked to the sky, her ony eyes gleaming from the blue of the sky.

When the guards came back and told her that he didn't want to speak with her, her eyes narrowed in anger. She could already tell what type of person he was just by his refusal. "Fine he doesn't have to speak he can listen. I will not leave this castle without speaking to him so it's either you let me through I can force my way through, and believe me you would not be happy to have me as an enemy" she warned her voice was low with a cold fury and a chill was felt in every part of the castle as her eyes of silver glared down at the guards who stood in her way.

At first, the guards had stood in the elf's way, both of their swords blocking the entrance. For, after speaking with the King, they had no desire to go against his wishes and therefore attempted to keep her out. However, as she spoke, their efforts in holding her back began to lesson greatly as their muscles began to weaken, their swords soon falling to their sides. Both had fear in their eyes as her threats left her lips, leaving them shaking in their boots. Once she had finished, both of the guards stood to the side, gesturing for her to enter. However, they were not going to go with her as one soon stated, breaking the silence that had fallen between them. "If you go, we will not go with you. You may deal with him if you wish. I do not want to be held responsible for my disobedience." And with those final words, the guards remained silent.

From within, the Steward could sense what was occuring and scoffed at the frailty of his own men. "Pathetic," said the outloud, his voice emotionless despite his feelings. "And this is what I have been left with? Kandal really was too soft. He is no high elf... and never will be admitted to enter my Kingdom again..."

Talen walked in smiling grimly her head held high. She walked up to the steward but did not bow to him. Instead she simply studied him not saying anything but in the end she glared at him with a merciless glare "What do you plan to do about the wood elves" she asked bluntly.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 19, 2007 2:10 pm

Rindolus' eyes drowsily lifted to the newcommer as the elven female entered the throne room, his face completly expressionless despite his feeling of rage inside of him. More of it was directed towards his guards, but some was also stored for this girl who had the foolishness to go against his wishes of not wanting to speak with her. Of course, he was also quite jealous, which was why such feelings existed within him. Before he had joined the High Council, he could never speak to anyone; he could not share his intillgence, nor could he brag of himself, since he felt unable, not to mention the fact that he never wanted to bother himself with it. But this girl, who was quite young, so full of life, was able to go up against the Steward himself, when he, when Kandal was king, could not stand up to him and speak his mind. But all of this, the Steward kept hidden; all feelings were kept veiled.

When the girl spoke, the Steward kept quiet until she finished, his face not hiding the fact that he was completely uninterested in what she had to say. When she had indeed finish, Rindolus took some time in replying, his eyes just staring into her own until he finally decided to speak. When he did, his voice, as always, was much that of a drone, his frail hand gently grasping the arm rest of his throne. "You wish to know and I have no intention of telling you my dear. You are but a commoner within these walls and are of no significance to me. Not only that, but I believe that I sent you away... but still you stand before me now. Please, leave me be before I throw you in the dungeons where you will rot..." And as soon as he finished saying those words, the Steward closed his eyes, his hands resting upon his lap.

Talen glared at him hadn't he already learned that she was going nowhere. She rolled her eyes, she was so sick of these preppy, spoiled high elves bossing her around or at least trying to she added with a grim thought. "I asked you a question and i expect you to answer it accordingly not tell me to leave. I thought that you might've been smarter than that but maybe you aren't i don't know. maybe you aren't even worthy to be a king since you obviously have no regard for your responsibilities if you haven't even figured out what to do about the wood elves." She told him angrily.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 19, 2007 9:40 pm

Rindolus just sighed after she finished speaking, his lids slowly rising so that her figure was now in his vision. Once this was accomplished, the Steward raised his head so that he could see her clearly, his hands folding in front of his face; it was almost as if he was using it to hide from her. And, just like before, the elf just stared into the elven's eyes, allowing an awkward silence to fall between them, until finally he spoke once more. However, this time, his voice was cold; it was very apparent of what he was feeling. But, at the same time, his voice was still drab and hollow as the words left him. "For your information, I have this position because the High Council believed that I was qualified for the job. If you do not agree with them, than you could take it up with them."

Slowly, almost as if he was old and in constant pain, the elf rose to his full height, his eyes never leaving her own. As he slowly descended the small platform (from which his throne was built upon [using the arm rests as support]), the elf groaned. However, once his feet were flat on the ground, the pain, which had been quite apparent on his face, left. Now recovered, the elf continued speaking, his face now contorted in disgust as he limped towards her. "And I do know how to deal with the wretched Wood Elves. But I have no intention of telling you. If you are so interested, why don't you just join their ranks and live in the dirt which they call home." At this, Rindolus laughed. Of course, his laughter was forced and weak (his horrible physical condition now quite apparent to Talen, due to the many clues indicating his weakness) and it even soon led to a coughing fit, which he however, quickly regained from.

When he had finished, the Steward turned from her, slowly making his way back to his throne which he, upon reaching it after what seemed like forever, immediately fell into. As soon as he had settled, Rindolus spoke again, his head now bowed down low as if he was sleeping. "Now go..."

Talen stared at him dusgustedly "You don't even know what it is like to be an elf, elves are supposed to be creatures of the forest and animals but instead you hide in this stone castle you call home and sulk about those elves that do have a life and do make a difference to this world. I can see it was a mistake to come here and try to make you see reason since you are so obviously burdened with your own selfishness." She spat at him her words coming out like poison "I say truly that my line of high elves were the last of there noble race for they could see in the joys of the forest and the animals, they could sit by a lake for hours and watch the magnificence in the worlds creation, but you? You have no right to call yourself an elf, you are a moster that would strike down your own kin just so you could stay on top" Then with a swirl of her long dress she exited the room in quick but graceful strides, hoping that her words had had some effect on this foolish steward. If he did not see reason then she just might have to show him hat a dangerous enemy she could truly be.
