Though against the Aruego border, the Southern HQ doesn't deal much with frontline action. With it's small base, Southern HQ was designed to keep the people of this resort area safe. As many vacationers and locals know, the southern tip of Amestris, like it's bordering country Aruego, is a very tropical climate and it's beaches are the best in the nation. The resorts are filled all year long with people trying to escape the every day hassels of life, and rather than trying to protect the country from enemy countries, the job of Southern HQ is to protect the people from their own stupid selves.

Background Story: Marcus was born out in the farm regions with his grandfather, a retired officer of the State. He had been regaled with stories of honor and dedication to the cause of unifying the world under one banner. So he joined the military at the age of 18 and rose through the ranks in an expedited manner.

From a young age, he had practiced legal alchemy, but only in small portions so as not to attract attention to himself. However, his skills have only been trained to perfect one art, which he has yet to show anyone.

After some heavy sweating and intense work, Brigadier General Linq finally got around to his daily tasks. When he finally sauntered into his office, his temporary NCO-assistant piling up a mountain of work. The brigadier general was taken aback and almost fell back into the hallway when he saw the work he had ahead of him. With a shake of his head and a heavy sigh, Marcus waved his hand off to assistant. The young girl exited the office, but not before apologizing profusely. While she was trying to make his apologies, Marcus waved the girl out. As she walked out, he took a peek at the girl.

Once she was gone, he shuffled slowly over to his desk, careful not to knock over the many piles of paper. He sat down and pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his desk drawer. He put a cigarette into his mouth and held it between his lips and he lit up. "That girl is gonna be the death of me... I swear. If she wasn't so damn cute, I'd be screaming and yelling at her for all this paper work. Damn my weakness. Oh well, back to work." With his cigarette in his mouth, Marcus started signing and stamping his seal of approval on the purchase orders for supplies from Central.
