So it had come to this after all.
Running through the pouring rain, not able to stop and rest. It had been a week of this, hiding where she could, eating when she could steal it....but mostly running. Running and running, it never stopped, when would it stop?

"Lets check over here!!" the sound of boots on the cobble stone alerted her to their distance and how many they numbered.

She hid in the dark, panting hoarsely, her blond hair hanging limply in her cobalt eyes "Six of them...probably armed...." she muttered to herself as she scooted her way down the alley, staying out of sight as best she could.
A can rattled by her foot and she hissed, stopping all movement as she strained to hear through the sound of the rain on the stone streets.

"I heard something over there!" one man shouted and she cursed, surging to her feet and bolting through the alley way at a break neck speed.
She heard the men behind her and ran for all she was worth, her bare feet slipping on the wet ground.

her breath hitched as her feet caught on an uneven stone, causing her to fall forward at great speed, she braced for the hard ground...but it never came.
instead she turned her dark eyes to a man...he was dark skinned with deep red hair and striking green eyes, his breath came in ragged pants and he turned his eyes to her "You must be the prey those maggots are hunting am I correct?" he pulled the blond up against his warm body and wrapped his cloak around her, keeping a protective arm around her shoulders as a group of six Alraenian soldiers came to a halt, drawing their weapons on the man and woman hidden partially beneath his cloak.
"Give us the girl, she's just a thief. She's not worth your time." one man said, he seemed to be the leader...since the other men did not speak, nor move towards them in anyway.

The man protecting said girl smirked and laughed "I would hardly think a beautiful woman isn't worth my time gentlemen." he raised his arm and muttered a few things hastily, sending a bolt of light at the feet of the group of Soldiers...which sent them stepping back a few feet.
"Who-Who ARE you!?" one soldier asked in fear, holding his gun with a shaky arm.

the green eyed man smiled darkly, his arm sparking with power "Me? I don't think that will matter to the dead." he stated as he set forth another strike of power...killing all the soldiers instantly.

The woman in question turned her startled eyes to her savior "Why...are you helping me?" she asked, astonished with this man who wielded such power to aid her.
He smiled down at her "I would think that is obvious..." he lowered his arm and rested it just below her navel "This belongs to me."
A spark of something went through her body as if in recognition of this man. Her eyes widened as the sparks continued to fly through her, she clutched his arm and gasped, her knee's buckling.
He chuckled and held her against his body "I know not your name...but the life you carry is mine." he held her protectively and leaped off into the night, carrying her with ease. She did not resist him, but merely held on to his body as they went along, not wanting to fall to the ground....but for some reason she knew he would not allow that....

Perhaps it had been a few hours...or a few minutes, she did not know, but at last they stopped their trek through the dark city. Their place of refuge was an abandoned house outside of the city walls, it seemed to be in ok condition as she looked around with wide cobalt eyes.
he released her from his grasp and led her gently through the dark halls to a room with a large bed. it was worn and old, but the blankets and sheets seemed clean and she smiled softly. She had not slept on a real bed for what felt like ages....
the man led her to the bed and motioned for her to sit down "I have been searching for you..."he told her quietly and she looked up at him, startled "You...you have?" she asked, unsure how to respond to him...he wasn't like those men..she knew that for sure. But then...why had he been searching...oh. She looked down at her abdomen and then back up at the strange man "I..don't understand..how...why...who.." she was confused and it made her dizzy.
"Yes I have..." he sat beside her and pulled her into his arms, this elicited a gasp from her and she looked up at him, startled.
He brushed a hand gently over her cheek, smiling softly "A week ago both you and I had been captured for some reason unknown...I had been forced into a rut...." he sighed and frowned as her eyes widened
"I...I-" she couldn't remember anything. Why couldn't she remember? Her attention turned to him when he rested two fingers against her temple "I will help you remember...."
A light filled her mind and she felt hands on her body, remembered the pain, chains rattling as she screamed in fear...
she looked up at him...watching him "They..they forced us...like we were animals...." she sobbed and clung to this man she hardly knew and wept.

(I shall continued tomorrow...blah)
