Phobia, as defined by the American Heritage Dictionary, is
1. A persistent, abnormal, and irrational fear of a specific thing or situation that compels one to avoid it, despite the awareness and reassurance that it is not dangerous.
2. A strong fear, dislike, or aversion.
We should all know that fear ('false events appearing real' as my Anthropology teacher said) is a big part of human life. Everyone fears something at sometime. There are thousands of names for various fears.
This thread is dedicated to the names of various phobias. It is played simply. One person will name a phobia. Other people try to guess what that phobia is. (example; I say arachnophobia and you say fear of spiders). Once the phobia has been guessed right then that person can list a new phobia.
I don't know how this game will be recieved but I think it is a fun idea. Here is the first phobia to figure out.
