After Forever is a goth band that hails from the Netherlands and is fronted by Floor Jansen. After Forever uses duel vocals between Floor's opera-eque and psuedo opera vocals and Sander's deep growls or "grunts" as the band refers to it. My favorite Album was Reimagine because i felt as though they reach into new territiory. I loved Invisible Circles but i over played it and now i dont listen to it very often. I did like the story line in Invisible Circles though. My Favorite songs would have to be Enter and Sins of Idealism. What do you guys think?

Okay i have been listening to Reimagine alot lately and i really liked the theme of the album. Alot of the songs are dealing with yourself and how you are percieved inside and out. I can;t count the times Floor sings about mirrors in it. Like for instance, take Free of Doubt, the song is about facing your reflection and seeing who you really are.

Free of Doubt

Who do I see?
Mirror let me know
You can't know me in the way I do
Can you see how I feel? I look different every day
I appear in many ways

Being Everyone

Now!
Look at me,
Tell me what you see
Are we just being everyone?

I would highly reccomend Reimagine for you Jen, The cut Enter is worth the price of the album alone.

I've heard a lot of hype about these guys but the only actual material I've heard thus far is two tracks off their latest 2007 self-titled. And I wasn't really impressed...pretty standard instrumentation and vox and rather lacking in heaviness. Nothing I haven't heard done (and done better) before. Are their earlier works any better?

Me had a question...*points*

As yes, well, I haven't heard any of their material from the Self Titled yet. I have Invisible Circles and Reimagine. Some tracks of Af can really stand out like Sins of Idealism from Invisible Circles and Enter from Reimiagine.

It's hard to say, yes sometimes After Forever can be a little lacking, but since they were one of the first goth/symph bands, they will always have a place in my heart.

If I was you I would download Invisible Circles (one of the best concept albums I have ever heard, super easy to follow the story and how the singing changes when they change the charcters is brilliant) and then Reimagine. The drumming isn't 100% on Reimagine because the drummer got cancer and went to rehab, but luckily he recorded enough in decent enough quality to use on the album.

I would just download first and then buy it if you like it.
