Elis is from Swizterland/ Liechtenstein and was fronted by Sabine Duenser until recently. Sabine just recently died at the age of 29 from a brain hemmorrage. They released their first album in 2001 under the band name ERBEN DER SCHÖPFUNG but changed it (thankfully) to Elis after Oliver split from the band. The Album God's Silence, Devil's Temptation released in 2003 was produced by Alexander Krull (husband of Liv Kristine of Leaves Eyes, he also produced Midnattsol's album). Their second album Dark Clouds in a Perfect Sky is amazing, imo (im listening to it right now). Their latest album was completed with the vocals of Sabine in her honor because Griefshire was often reffered by her as her "baby". I like Griefshire but she uses to opera-esque vocals a little much so i prefer Dark Clouds in a Prect Sky better. Any thoughts?

I heard a song by them recently. I noticed the female vocals so to me it wasn't to my liking but the music was good. That sucks that she died so young.

I heard a few of their songs, but I didn't think that they were that great.

I thought that way about the vocals as first as well, but they grew on me. @ Dragon Bleed, you can listen to Tristania but you can't listen to Elis? Woah.

I can listen to Elis, but They sound different, and I prefer Tristania.

robin2220 My Hollow Your talking about God's silence right? Yes. I rather enjoyed their second release but not so much Griefshire.

I've heard a few songs by them. I like them, but only in small doses. They have that sound that's good for maybe up to 10 minutes of listening, but then they just start to annoy me. confused
