Yep. During the long wait for Twilight Princess's release, there were many things I was expecting to find in the game that were briefly shown in the trailers. Sadly, these things were either removed completely or modified a bit, and I thought I'd share with you guys my opinions on some of them. Feel free to post the things you expected as well, but were disappointed not to find.
Alrighty then, first up:
This one in particular is especially interesting to me. What was that thing? A new race? A guide to the forest temple? Whatever it was, I have a feeling it either became the yeti you discover later in the mountains, or the guard statues found in the sacred grove.
In the first trailer Link's transformation from a human to a wolf was much smoother. It looked as though he was actually morphing into an animal, unlike the completed version where his wolf features are literary popping out of his face. I almost couldn't stand to watch it...
Now this is one modification I'm grateful for. Midna's arm-thing looked hideous in the early trailer. Although the blue color in it was nice, the thing was big, bulky, and too long when she wasn't using it. Good job Nintendo for fixing it up a bit.
Diving without the Zora Armor. A minor annoyance, but I'm sure they wanted it to be extra special.
This was probably how the cat hunt at the beginning of the game was going to be like. Perhaps Nintendo wanted to introduce players who had the Wii version to the interactive controls the Wii-mote used in fishing, thus giving us the cat-fish mini quest.
All right! We're busting out of here! Yea- Wait, what? We're digging out instead? Oh... (Sorry for the blurry image)
In one of the earlier trailers Link was shown fighting a Goron on what looked to be the very top of a mountain, with the sun setting in the distance. Breathtaking yes, but in the completed game they stuck the battle inside a dim room, against an old Goron, and made it a sumo match. Not very exciting in my opinion. (Once again, sorry for a blurry image)
I don't recall seeing this monster... Interesting. It almost looks like a dead moblin.
More may come later on, if I'm not too lazy to go and look for some. :]

I agree with you on the first picture, it looks alot like the guard statue thing. confused
Anyways, I was surprised when I didn't see any Octoroks, or Moblins. (There were the Boko/Miniblins but...) As far as I know, Octoroks have been in every past Zelda game. Hmmm, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. :p

Well...I recall a scene where a Lizalfos was being sliced in half. I was disappointed to see they took that out...

Well Kris, I can't really agree with your statement on pic #2. When Link was first transforming into a wolf, the developers wanted to make the scene seem like Link had no clue what was happening, and that it looked painful. Frankly, this new way of changing seemed alittle better in my opinion, cause the trailer's transformation scene looked like Link was just switching over to his wolf form, not really changing.
But that's just what I think.
I can't really remember what I was expecting to see in TP that I saw in a trailer. It was too long ago. Sorry.

...a magic bar. I heard there was one at a time... also, element arrows would have been nice.

I agree with Kris about the Wolf transformation. It looked cooler in the trailer than it did in the game. At least he looked like he was changing, not just the wolf popping up over him. And what about the giant spider you see in the second trailer that chases Link? That would have been a cool boss battle...

I never saw it anywhere, but I was hopeing that we would be able to pick up weapons that enemies use like in Wind Waker. That was soooooooooo much fun and it would have been great for Twilight Princess. ><

One thing I missed in TP was the musical element. One of my favorite things from the past few games were the songs you learned with the ocarina and the wind waker. It added to the experience. I was dissapointed when I realized Link would only howl when he needed to learn a new sword move. I wish you could have used it like an instrument. It would have been cool.

I loved TP, but it would've been fun to play it with all those things still in it. Wish I could've played the Beta version. I did notice the cats were not in the woods when I played. The sumo match was fun for me, but you're right, the mountain top battle would've been cool. That thing in the first pic kinda freaks me out. I prefer Yeto, he's so lovable! (Got a saddle on his head! blaugh )

It would have been fun if there was more of a fight with the Gorons. Speaking of, I'm not sure if it was in the trailer or anything, but I've seen a beta version of a large group of Gorons forming together to make a Goron Golem. It looked pretty interesting (though a little weird to see a bunch of floating Gorons...). (From 1:24 to the end of this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=s-x2cl9ACV4 ) Also, there was a part in the trailer that showed an army of bulbins. How fun would that have been to go against an army? 4laugh One more thing that I would have liked to see would have been being able to canoe around in the water at Ordon village. (at 2:39 through 2:41 of this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FlxT148Vsqg )

i honestly thought both transformations were nothing to get excited over. As for things in trailers that didn't make it into the game i think it would've been cool if the spiders could wrap you in their silk like i saw in a trailer once.

And,I'll show the pic when I find it,but what is that scene where Link is howling on the hill with the moon in the forest?-pic coming soon-
