I know i'll be all alone on this, inside this guild, anyway... But I'm a windows user, and know what mac is, of course... but I've never really heard of anything else. In a sec (i have to head to walmart real quick for the after vday sale on candy) I'll read every sticky and annoucement in here...
So, is there anything else I should know outside of those posts being that I know nothing relevant?

Well first off welcome to the guild! Well really all that we ask for, sense you are going to read the stickies and announcements is that you keep an open mind. With an open mind and willingness to learn, then you will become very familiar with the alternatives in OSes.

Awesome. Thanks for not booting me out a n00b. I'll read them all now that I've found time. 3nodding

Look you just need time and you need to ask us as much as you can and we will try and help you.
But know this when you go Linux there is little chance you will want to go back razz .(joke) But you have to have opened mind like vendion said. Linux is great OS not just because I use it but because it has everything windows has (except some games) and much more of useful programs for programmers and all other stuff like designers and music makers and some other people. So you need not worry we will help you in picking the distro that is best for you. So I think that first time you need to try it in vmware (virtual PC), because you will get to know it and you will be able to chat on this forum asking us what is wrong or you can add some of us in to MSN if we or they allow biggrin you can ask me for it true PM I dislike letting it opened for people to add me. but you should know I am new to it to only in it for 6 months and I'm on one of the hardest distros out there to make it work biggrin (I had help from a friend IRL).
So go one and think this true ask us anything biggrin .

I've posted a new sticky with some helpful resources as well. Give those a once-over for some extra help. 3nodding

It's okay. Sometimes WINE just doesn't cut it, unfortunately. sad

I know the only thing holding WINE back is its Active X abilities, or should I say lack there of. I just hope that as the WINE developers keep working on this they one day over come the Active X problems.
