Love Like Sore(Song: Love Like Winter, by AFI)
(Shonen-Ai warning)Enjoy ^^ (critics please heart )Dude... I figured you'd be an awesome AMV-maker from the comments you've left on other videos, and this just proves my theory even more. It's incredible, the way that you split apart and pieced together the shots and the way the transition between them feels so in-tempo and natural. The beginning especially was pure win... I love the opening shot sequence, and the way that the song itself gives such a surreal, ominous feel to the Destiny Islands. The matching of 'I met my love before I was born' to the new game preview (since it will most likely be a prequel) was pretty clever of you, and the way that you matched each verse to a pairing was interesting, too. I've been looking for a good Kingdom Hearts video for this song, and I'm glad to have finally seen one that doesn't disappoint.
Criticism...? Hm... I really don't have much of anything, but I guess I can be a little nitpicky if you really want it that badly... This video opened brilliantly, but it seemed like some of the shots at the end were a little weird. For instance, I liked the timing on the clip with Namine - the way the pod explodes from the floor right on that hit - but I wasn't really sure how it fit the theme of your video. The scene with Donald and Goofy threw me off, too. And the shot sequence for the last four hits in the song seemed like it could have come in earlier. Like, you have that shot of him falling in the water, and it goes on after the first hit, and THEN you have clips that correspond to the hits - I was expecting it all earlier, I guess. Incidentally, I loved the use of the shots in the battle between Riku and Sora - every time they appeared, it was so gorgeous, because the atmosphere was just perfect for the song, very cool and dramatic and kind of depressing, but with flair. XD If that makes any sense.
Seriously, though, this is a freaking brilliant video. What I'm talking about as far as criticism are hiccups, compared to the overall effect, which was incredibly taut and fit the theme of the song perfectly. I look forward to passing this along to other people to enjoy as much as I did! XD (Not to mention trying in vain to emulate your superior editing skillz on
my next AMVs.) Awesome work.
