In addition to Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy, and .Hack, I think this a pretty cool series. Has had about 5 games and each one you can get a total of 106 characters to join you xd (Note: Not all characters are usable. Some are battle characters, some give support effects, some give mini-games, some are just there and just look nice in your castle)

I only have two: #IV and V. IV sucks so don't get it, but I higher recommend V. (Recommend as in GO! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?)

For info on the battle system. It's kinda like FF in where there are random battles and everyone takes turns acting based on how fast they are. The difference is you choose each person's attack at once and they all attack in a turn.

Suikoden V allows you to have 10 characters in your party at once. 6 for battle, 4 for an entourage which can hold fighters you can switch out for or support characters that give special effects.

All in all, Suikoden V gets 10/10 from me.

apparently it isn't advertised a lot and many have been disappointed by IV. However, I sometimes go for the unknown games and tend to like them, and this one definitly should be up with the top games.

The graphics are nice. the diversity of all the members is what I find truely amazing about the game, compared to games that only give you 3-6 main characters.

I've only played one Suikoden. It was the one where your dad is a general in the imperial army, and you end up as leader of the rebels. I can't remember which one it was, since it was so long ago. Final boss is the emperor.

...since I've played III, IV, and V. That must be either I or II.

and I think those two were 8-bit characters...

No, they weren't 8 bit. It was for the Playstation, and I haven't played one since because I haven't found one yet. Except for Suikoden Tactics, and I didn't like the looks of it. I'm gonna go to Gamestop for my brother's birthday, and I'll look for it there.

....it might've been four...I dunno, I hated that one for the sea travel, too damn slow.

I think it was IV. Either way, which Suikoden is the best?

mmmm. V

V allows you 10 party members (6 battle, 4 entourage), gives you cool formations, has a great war battle system, is easy to play, and the characters actually speak, helping you figure out how young/old they are. Also, the guardian who always follows you gives you a little tip on what to do next, which really helps, considering III and IV never remind you on where to go next unless you talk to....everyone!

III is second best as its travel system isn't 100% retarded. It allows 6 battle members and one support in your party, and the 6 battle members are put in groups of two, in which each group is given one command such as attack or magic. However, the battle system also invokes a move action which means your party members have to move before attacking, which sometimes results in no attacking. Magic casting may also take 2-3 turns which leaves too much time for it to be interupted.

IV is the downright worst. First of all, the world map travel system is slower than a dead turtle! Second, it only allows four battle members and one support member, which hinders you when checking out all the party members. Another point people bring up is that the main character's role makes no sense since he's a common soldier and he's suddenly told to lead all these people.

So V.
