Hi, I'm purplewiz, or PW, or purple, or wiz...
I live in one of those big square states out west. I'm 42 years old (at least for a little while longer), happily married to the world's nicest guy, two cats, no kids.
I'm currently an independent contractor, which means I'm often "at leisure" (to steal a phrase from the theater), which means I'm unemployed a lot. When I am employed I'm a high tech support person: I've done everything from software release to customer support, technical/business writing, management (never again), and I've programmed networking products and test suites. Sadly, most of the high tech in this town has gone under, so we're looking at other opportunities.
My major hobby right now is Asian Ball Jointed Dolls (ABJD) - I started collecting them long before they became popular. Mostly what I do with them is sew for them - my dolls all have far better wardrobes than I do. I also collect many other dolls, action figures (especially Wolverine), Beanie Babies to a certain extent, and anime cels.
I grow African Violets, I garden in our short summers, and I'm a reasonably accomplished home cook. I'm also an unashamed chocoholic.

I am Sicilian and LOVE to cook..would garden if I had a place to do it..but sadly I live in a condo with no yard or piece of earth to play with.
Its awesome to hear from you and about you...and we are all glad you are here!!! Looking very much forward to trying that recipe! I'll let you know when I do!!

I used to garden exclusively in containers before we bought this house - grew tomatoes and basil and when we lived in California I even had a miniature orange tree, all in pots.
