((Since this is a self RP, I don't see the need to separate the posts xd I'll post each section in it's own post, and everyone who wants to is free to post on what they think. Note, that nobody else may participate in the actual RP, but you're free to comment on it or ask questions ^^ ))

A huge form moved carefully about in the misty forest at the base of the mountain range. Hakuna Mapato was known for its mysteriousness, and Shanghai was keen to explore every inch of it.

"What have we here?" He asked quietly, eyeing a cave almost directly above him. It was a good thirty feet up, way out of jumping distance, and yet, he found a way. Shanghai is no ordinary tocou, you see, he's one of the few legendaries that walk the land, and he's crafty to boot. After nearly an hour of careful maneuvering about the nearby rocks, knocking over several trees to make bridges between gaps, and obtaining some painful scratches, he was up and in the mouth of the cave.

"Why did I even bother with that?! Hardly worth it..." He grumbled to himself, nursing his wounds for a moment before an echo touched his sensative ears.

'come...'

"Who's there?" He called, taking a tentative step forward.

'come...'

Curiousity overtook him, and throwing caution to the winds, the massive tocou started through the long, winding tunnels of the cave. Being of the dark element, Shanghai had no trouble seeing in even the pitch blackness of the area, and he was surprised to see that though they stretched on for a long ways, there were no turns. No alternate routes, no way to get lost.

No other way out.

He managed to get over that fact long enough to be startled by a wall of pure darkness. So pure, in fact, that not even Shanghai's powers allowed him to see past it. Puzzled, he reached out with a paw, sure that it must be a solid object, for no darkness had ever denied him access before. He gave a yelp of surprise when his paw slipped right through to the other side, vanishing from his view. Panicking, he attempted to pull his paw back.

It stuck where it was, as if someone on the other side of the darkness was holding him there. "Let me go!" He hissed at the darkness, yanking on his paw, but to no avail. He was stuck, VERY stuck. Being of the dark element, he had never feared the darkness before, because there was no reason to. He could always see what he needed to, and there was no issue. This, however, frightened him beyond anything he had ever experianced. There seemed no way to free himself, the only option was to go forward.

'come...'

"No!" He yelled, fear infecting him. What if he went in, and couldn't get out? What if he was stuck inside this wall of darkness forever once he entered it? His mind raced with the what-ifs for several minutes, panic and wild instincts blinding him to logic until he managed to regain control. A couple more minutes later, he decided that being stuck part way in and unable to move was probably just as bad as being all the way in, because he was likely to starve to death either way if he couldn't escape it. But if he went in, there was a chance of something on the other side, right? If he stayed out, could someone find him and rescue him? No, it was near impossible for anyone to access the cave, let alone travel far enough to find him. Not to mention that he had no idea how to get free.

Taking a deep breath, Shanghai plunged himself through the wall of darkness, but instead of coming to a sudden stop after entering it, he found that it was gone. All of the unnatural darkness had vanished, leaving him standing in a circular chamber with an eerie, green tocou.

"Who... Are you?" He asked nervously, glancing over his shoulder for any sign of the dark wall. It was as before, nowhere in sight.

"Oh there you are, I was beginning to wonder if fear had gotten the better of you." The green tocou chuckled, turning around. He had piercing red eyes, and markings that gave him the apperance of being a zombie wearing a bowtie. On this bowtie marking, a red symbol glowed, a symbol of a bat with a snake around its feet.

"I'm glad it didn't, one who can't overcome fear and is made blind by his instincts is of no use to me." He smirked, stepping forward off of a raised platform, where Shanghai got a better look at him. He was young, not even an adult yet. But his presence, it was like he wasn't the only one there. He commanded total attention, and respect.

"My name is Tisho, and I already know yours, Shanghai." He cackled spookily, "I know of the power you possess, and I offer you the chance to gain power beyond your wildest dreams."

Shanghai was stunned, at a loss for words. He desired power, deffinately, but to be under the command of one so young? Unthinkable, if not for that strange air about him... He was deffinately not a normal tocou.

"You... Did you create that darkness back there?" He said shakily, shuddering slightly.

"Ah, so you fear true darkness?" He asked curiously, "Ironic, though not too terribly difficult to explain." He nodded, "Being able to see in the purest of darkness must be a wonderful gift, but a burden if you find your powers have no effect." He mused, gazing at the entrance to the chamber for a moment.

"I'll admit, I didn't know what you would see or experiance there, only that it would scare you, push you to your limits." He smiled slyly, "But what of my offer?"

Shanghai was not easily scared, and to find one who could, seemingly effortlessly, nearly drive him mad with fear was a true achievement. He must have great and terrible powers...

"I accept, master Tisho."

((Shanghai is now out and about recruiting members to help Tisho. If you want your Tocou to join up with him, schedule an RP with Shanghai by either posting here, or PMing me.

Please note that tocous who are unfaithful or unsure about if they want to or not, should not join. Tisho is very serious about his plan, and does not intend to stop it under any circumstances. Also note that your tocou will not know what the plan is, only that they will gain power or protection by following him. ))

Why Would I Join You?

(Several days after Shanghai met with Tisho...)
As usual, Mvushi had been eager to explore every inch of Hakuna Mapato in order to find new herbs that he could use in his potions of healing. Today, however, he found himself in the mountains, and not much seemed to grow here. The things that did looked dead, and no good for healing. Perhaps higher up the mountain? That could be... It wasn't likely, but who was to know if they didn't try?

The young Tocou proceeded to climb the jagged rocks in the lower mountain, and quickly found several trees that had been uprooted and used as bridges between some of them. "How strange..." He said to himself, and carefully crossed them. It was quite convenient, he could have never made that size of a jump on his own. Very soon, he noticed, the trees stopped. He found himself at another large gap that he could not cross. He sighed and turned around, startled by the cave he had just passed by, a gaping hole of darkness, just waiting for him.

"Perhaps there are mushrooms in there." He reasoned with himself, trotting merrily into the dark cave. He had no fear of the darkness, only hatred for those who used it wrongly. As he stepped into it, his body began to glow, allowing him to see the path. Though he did not fear the dark, he still didn't want to bump into anything if he didn't have to.

"This is so strange... This can't be a natural cave." He said to himself, following the winding pathway with no way to get lost. There were no turns, no forks in the path, only one way to go. Just when he thought it was going to go on forever, it stopped abruptly, opening into a circular chamber with several torches around the perimeter, lighting the area slightly. Mvushi extinguished the glow around him, and stepped forward. There was a green tocou in the center, facing away from him...

As soon as Mvushi's paw crossed the threshold between the tunnel and the circular room, the green tocou spun around. His red eyes seemed to bore into his mind, probing for lies or deception. He seemed confused, and stepped toward Mvushi.

"Have you no fear, little one?" He asked calmly, eyeing the small frame, "Darkness, pain, death?" He asked, for he knew that he had set up a wall of pure fear just at the entrance to his small home, his headquarters. How could one so young have overcome it without so much as a pause, a sign that he was afraid? Tisho had no way to know the fears of whoever passed through it, only that they would experience it.

"What is your name?"

Mvushi was just as confused as Tisho. A stranger had just asked him what he feared, and he knew nothing about him, why should he answer? But he felt like it wasn't safe to defy him, so he responded, and did so honestly.

"Of course I have fear." He said slowly and quietly, "I don't fear darkness, or pain or death of myself, but I do fear... A world where everyone else must suffer. Where ANYONE else must suffer, where I can do nothing to help them." He didn't know why this tocou wanted to know, but he knew now, and there wasn't anything that could change it now.

"My name is Mvushi, and may I know yours?"

"Of course..." Tisho gasped, a look of sudden realization crossing his face. He could make others experience their own personal fears, but there was no way to duplicate the pain of others and project it on someone else. There was his flaw, but he had never expected such a small child to discover it.

"I am Tisho. Little Mvushi, I take it that you don't desire power, nor do you feel the need for protection, traveling alone..." He shook his head. He couldn't have anyone like that in his ranks. "I didn't wish to do this, but it may be the only way..." A pile of bones that was nearby suddenly formed into a giant skeleton of a bear, and it lumbered into the doorway, cutting off his escape. "We can do this the easy way, or the hard way." He admitted, closing in on Mvushi.

"I can't have anyone knowing of my plans who will not help me, you will stay here and help my cause, like it or not." He hissed, "There will be a guard watching you at all times, so that you do not escape. That's the easy way." He explained, "The hard way, and I'll have to control your every move for you." Another pile of bones sprang to life, this one was a very feline looking skeleton, and about the same size as Mvushi. It ran up to him and jumped at him, as if he was about to tackle him, but instead it's pieces came apart, like it was broken, in midair. As the pieces came nearer to Mvushi, they formed back together around him. The ribcage wrapped itself around his chest, the skull encased his head like a helmet, and the limbs lay upon his arms and legs, the paws gripping his. Even the thin, bony tail wrapped around his.

"I'm sure you don't want me to have to use this." Tisho laughed, and the skeleton bowed to him, Mvushi doing the same as if he was a puppet. "This allows me total control. I cannot control what you say, but I've fixed that." The skeletons jaws clamped shut, keeping Mvushi's mouth firmly closed.

"What say you, little slave?"

The jaw of his captor loosened, allowing him to speak again, "I'll never serve you!" He hissed, thinking quickly. He hated to use his powers for anything but healing and lighting the way, but he saw no other way out. He filled the entire room with a blinding light, causing Tisho to stumble and lose control of his two undead minions for a moment, just long enough for Mvushi to run past the bear guard, the skeleton that had just been controlling him hanging limp on him. Mvushi shook his body violently as he ran, causing most of the bones to fall off of him. Only the ribcage remained on him, as the ribs were all securely fastened. He ran as fast as his legs would carry him, dashing down the tunnel.

As he ran, Tisho regained control over himself, screaming at the top of his lungs after Mvushi, "Insolent child! You will die for your disobedience!" As he spoke, he regained control over the skeleton that had been binding Mvushi, but there was something wrong... Most of the bones were missing! In a last ditch effort to kill or at least slow down the cub, the ribs clenched together, attempting to crush Mvushi. It was too late though, Mvushi felt the squeeze and a sharp burst of pain, but as he leaped out of the cave, he was out of his range. Tisho could no longer control the bones.

Tisho muttered angry words of hatred in Mvushi's name, and returned to his previous meditation, which was actually him talking to Uruvion, asking for advice... That child had to be stopped, but as of yet, Tisho would not leave his cave, he wasn't powerful to start his siege on the world... Not yet.

Mvushi gasped and panted for breath, quickly navigating his way out of the mountain area. He had only two thoughts in his mind: To get away, and that Tisho had to be stopped...

Once he was a safe distance from the mountains, he collapsed, struggling to breathe. The cage of bones around his chest hung loosely from him, but it wasn't loose enough for him to remove. One thing was for sure though, Mvushi would not be able to get that near to Tisho again, he would be killed within moments... But that wasn't the worst of it, Mvushi had a feeling that Tisho was going to try something terrible, and he had to warn anyone, everyone about him.

((Mvushi is now recruiting members to the resistance! If your tocou wants to fight evil, he or she should have an RP with Mvushi concerning the threat that Tisho is becoming. Anyone who wishes to oppose him may join, but keep in mind that Mvushi is not the leader, he's only raising awareness. Healers and fighters alike may join the resistance, or even anyone who could help gather food, or build a shelter. ))

((Alrighty, I don't want to do a bunch of individual RPs, it would take too long xD instead, I'm opening up to ORPs, one for each side. If you're interested, that's the new place to be! ))
