Age: Early 20s--though that's not what Mercedes will tell you.

Height: 5'11"--quite tall, though she tends to forget, and spends a lot of time banging her forehead on low doorways.

Hair: Long and blue-black

Eyes: Brown

Overall Appearance: Tall and gangly, Mercedes looks nothing like the wise old seer she claims to be. Even when sitting perfectly still--which does not happen often--she has an aura of clumsiness about her that often gives away her more elaborate hoaxes. More plain than pretty, but with a penchant for gaudy clothing. She seems in many ways to contain conflicting personalities.

Personality: If we were to explain Mercedes in a single word, that word would be "dramatic." Theatrical and insincere, her life is a constant act, but never the same one--at one moment she plays the enigmatic fortune-teller, at another the friendly thimblerigger, at another the damsel-in-distress. Prone to selfishness and greed, she tends to think in terms of what will benefit her first and others later. Rash and compulsive, she will make a decision not only without thinking about the consequences, but completely oblivious to the idea of consequences at all.
Not that she's heartless. Mercedes values companionship, and a fear of loneliness may keep her from betraying her closest allies. She can be kind when she remembers to be, and although her sense of morality is distorted at best and nonexistent at worst, she is far from cruel.
Confused, easily amused, sarcastic and witty, she is more normal than she appears, but a lot weirder than she thinks.

Talents: Basic knowledge of card and coin tricks. Decent liar. Fast thinker.
