This is my story. I decided to release to a small crowd before putting it in the Writers Forum. Please tell me what you think. Prologue In an empty classroom at Harte Academy, Mrs. Nameta sat at her desk, going over the day’s lesson.
“It’s that time of year again,” She sighed. Mrs. N. was a history teacher at the school; one of the best.
The morning bell rang and the class slowly filled up. Wait until they hear today’s lesson. The teacher smiled.
She stood up and took role, “Okay class, listen up!” The students looked at her sleepily. They were all about sixteen. The teacher laughed. I’d never be caught dead in a place like this when I was sixteen…
“This week we’re learning about a bit of history that only happened twenty years ago. Some people call it the Human Revolution. But the truth is that Humans didn’t have much to do with it…
“It all started when a powerful Majik named Ynar, took over. He was a spiteful man who declared all the humans slaves to the Majik.”
“Mrs. N?” Idam asked as she raised her hand, “Aren’t you human?”
“Yes.”
“Were you a slave? You were alive then weren’t you?”
“Yes, I was alive. But no, I wasn’t a slave.”
“So what were you?”
“A human rebel, a member of the Rebellion, led by…” the teacher paused.
“By Lehcar Kciwrob,” the know-it-all of the class interrupted, “Mrs. Nameta, did you know her?”
“I did, in fact,” Mrs. N. beamed, “One of my proudest moments!” She laughed out loud, but then looked at the boy with her best serious face, “But that’s none of your business, is it?” The boy shook his head quickly. Mrs. Nameta smiled, “Now class, close your textbooks. I know this story by heart!”
And so it begins…

Great, now I'm addicted to this story and the second part isn't even out yet. *sigh* Now I'm going to have to start passing my classes to get online more. By the way, I don't like something about a story ,I won't read it. Period. Even if it's a tiny thing. So if I'm reading your story then I think it's one of the best. (That's not in the Library of Congress)

Part One: Rebellion Chapter One: Harte Welcome to the world of Harte. Harte, a world alternate to Earth, is a land of Magic. In fact, the Majik, a race with powerful magic, rule out the powerless Humans. Or so rules the dictator of all things in Harte, Ynar. Ynar’s power operates under four armies the Fire, Earth, Water, and Air. Of course the humans hate him and formed a rebellion against him. The group of rebels is huge and lead by a strong, smart, and brave leader… § § § “You’re kicking me out!?!” Lehcar stormed in rage, “After all I did, you’re kicking me out!?!” “No, of course not,” Eihpets tried to remain calm. Lehcar was very temperamental, and although she was the one to first who motioned to boot Lehcar out, she didn’t want to make her angry. “We’re… We… we just don’t want you to lead the rebels anymore.” Eihpets was clearly scared. “I can’t believe this! Lehcar sounded exasperated. She always hated Eihpets but she never thought the secretary of her rebellion would kick her out. “So, I imagine you will be the next leader.” “Eh…no…” Eihpets said cautiously. Everyone at the base that day was now watching. “It’s… his name… Nai will replace you.” “Nai?! A joker like him? You’re kidding me!” Lehcar was steaming up. She didn’t know Karu well, but she hated him now. “Lehcar,” Acissej, another rebel said, “You have to calm down!” She was afraid of Lehcar, but pretended not to be. “Hmm… Alright.” Lehcar sighed and she put her right hand on her hip and reached out her left to shake Eihpets. “A fond farewell.” Lehcar smiled. Eihpets sighed in relief. She grabbed the girl’s hand. Lehcar pulled the girl’s arm in as if to hug her. Eihpets returned the action of kindness. But she felt metal against her stomach. Lehcar’s kind smile turned into a malicious one. She pulled the trigger and Eihpets dropped her arms and fell to the ground. Lehcar looked at the girl on the floor. She whistled loudly. Suddenly, a small rodent came running up, dragging a large duffle bag in its teeth. Lehcar picked up the bag and the rodent jumped into one of its many pockets. She started to head out of the Rebel Base’s doors. Everyone hurried around Eihpet’s body. “Relax,” Lehcar said as she opened the chamber of her gun. She took out a dart, “She’s not dead. It was just poison. She’ll be okay in a day or so.” She laughed a little, “See you guys,” she said as left the Rebel Base. Everyone just stared as Lehcar left. All of the rebels presented stared at her in state of shock. Although what she did had not surprised them. Lehcar was one of the only known human who carried a gun, and who knew what she carried in that bag of hers! No one wanted to let her go, no telling what she might do. But no body wanted to stop her either. SIDE NOTE: Everyone in Harte is someone's name spelt backwards. Just in case you were wondering where I got my senseless names from

Chapter Two: Sisters “I told you, Esined, we’re going the wrong way!” Yelhsa whined to her older sister. “No we’re not!” Esined snapped. She was obviously angry; she and her sister had been wandering through the desert for days. They had first been running from Ynar’s army, but now they were just looking for a place to stay. “Esined! Look!” Yelhsa shouted with delight. She was so hungry and thirsty she thought it might have been a mirage. However, it didn’t look like one. “Hm… a city,” The assassin said blankly. She looked at her ecstatic sister. She could hardly believe they were related. Their mother was half-siren and half-Water mage. Their father was a Black-Majick. Both of the girls were Healers. But since their powers were extremely limited, they had to find a different use for their magic. Esined was taken in by an assassin guild at a young age and the title just stuck. However, Yelhsa used her talent for singing to an advantage and became a one-of-a-kind Majick class, a Songstress. Then Esined smiled and said, “Well, lets go check it out.” “You’re not going anywhere!” A voice said from behind them. Yelhsa and Esined turned around to face and army of Magicks wearing black suits and red armbands. Esined saw the orange triangles on their uniforms, “the Fire Army,” she muttered. “There are tons of them!” Yelhsa’s eyes nearly popped out of her head. Esined silently looked at the odds of them winning and said, “We’re screwed.” § § § Wow...short chapter. But two major-ish characters were introduced. Chapter three to come soon.

Chapter Three: Meow? Alegna screamed out in pain as tears ran down her cheek. Her eyes were blood red and her throat was throbbing in pain but she would give in. “Ha! Look! The little wind mage can’t take a punch!” One of her capturers laughed. The others joined him in mocking her. Alegna coughed. She was bred in a town were the magic was pure and clean. But here, in a dingy city in the Fire region, the magic was horrible. As a wind mage, she was very sensitive to the atmosphere. The change in the atmospheric conditions had made her incredibly ill. And the fact that she was chained up in a warehouse filled with dust and God knows what else, being tortured by three Black-Majick punks didn’t make matters any better. A short kid with a shaved head and two missing teeth came up to Alegna with a knife. She closed her eyes, but she could feel the cold, stinging metal slash against her soft skin causing an extreme burning sensation. The smell of blood was released into the air. A taller kid with red hair and way more tattoos and piercings on his body than ever thought possible came to her and licked the blood off of her arm. He grinned when he saw her cringe, “It’s good,” he said as he grabbed Alegna’s arm and held it to her face, as if she couldn’t move her own arm, “Try some. You haven’t eaten in days.” He dropped her arm and they all laughed wildly. “Come on,” The man who appeared to be their leader, laughed, “You know your hungry!” “That’s it!” Alegna mumbled as she struggled to ride to her feet. She couldn’t take this kind of abuse any longer. She wanted to prove to her family that she could be strong. The chains pulled at her arms and ankles, weighing her down. Tears streamed down her face as she continued to struggle. She sighed; she didn’t know if she had enough energy to control air without one of her staffs. But she knew the only way out was to try. She gathered up her strength and collected molecules of air around her. She held her breath as the air pressure around her and the chains that bound her began to climb. Her ears popped and the pressure began to build on specifically the chains. It got stronger and stronger and the chains finally began to shatter. Before Alegna’s kidnappers even knew what she was doing, the chains binding her arm completely snapped. The hash metal hitting the concrete floor made the Black-Majicks, who were talking amongst themselves, spin towards Alegna. As Alegna freed herself from her other chains, she felt her strength completely diminishing. Well, so much for that plan. How am I supposed to escape when they’re standing right there?! And just as she always does when she’s too tired too fight, Alegna slipped down into the form of a cat. This is because Alegna is not only an Air Mage, but part Moon-cat as well. This means she can change from a Human-like form with cat ears to cat-like form. But that’s about as far as that power extends to. She took a deep breath. Her captors just stared. The leader laughed, “A Moon-cat and a mage! Interesting,” He bent down to pick Alegna up but she quickly darted to the other side of the warehouse and hid under a table. The leader looked at the others, “This changes everything. Boys, instead of killing her, I have a better idea. She’s going to be today’s special at the Black Market Auction. Catch her and meet me at the ally across from the market. Understood?” He turned towards the door. “Understood,” The two others chorused as the leader slammed the warehouse door. Crap, Alegna thought to herself as shook her head, The door was just open; I should have darted out while I had the chance. The boy with the red hair peered under the table looking straight at Alegna. With all her energy, she darted from under the table and ran straight to the door. The bald kid dove to catch her, but Alegna was much too fast. She transformed back into her regular form and opened the door. She laughed, “I thought it might have been locked. I guess I got lucky!” She said to herself as she darted out the door and shut it quickly. She popped back down into cat-form and tried to find her way out of the city. The pollution of the city air made Alegna’s dizzy. She started to cough uncontrollably. At the last minute, she ran behind a dumpster as she collapsed. Please, she prayed, don’t let them find me. § § § Dude...this one was pretty long compared to the others. But who doesn't love cats? (Alegna is one of my more popular characters.) I'm not posting any more until I get some feedback.

Chapter Four: Memories Lehcar walked outside of the village where the rebel base was hidden. It was a miracle no one has found it yet. But then again, Lehcar has handpicked the location. She had made sure that everyone in the village could be trusted as allies to the rebelling slaves. She stood on the hill that looked over the village and remembered the day she had found it. The day she knew that that was the place: Lehcar laughed as she looked over the then deserted town, “It’s beautiful! This is it. I’m sure of it!” She said brightly as she looked at her friend Belac. He blinked, “It’s a deserted village in the middle of the desert. What’s so special about this place?” “I don’t know. It’s hidden from every direction. And it’s just far away. That’s all,” Lehcar said, staring at the cloudless sky. Then she looked at her friend and smiled, “And it won’t be deserted for long! I’ll find lots of humans to live here and Majicks to help us!” Belac rolled his eyes. But then he laughed, “Fine, you win Lehcar,” He ruffled her hair, “Good job, kid.” Lehcar could feel herself blushing, “I’m not a kid you know! You’re not that much older than me!” She shouted to Belac. “Not my fault you’re a midget,” He laughed, “If you wanted to look older, maybe you should wear taller shoes. There’s no reason to yell at me!” Lehcar shook her head as she snapped back to the present. The girl looked at the clouds and sighed, It was so long ago, why bring it back? She thought. She turned out towards the desert. Her ears caught the sound of many voices. Quite possibly shouting for help. Something in her head told Lehcar to forget the town. She was still young; the rest of her life was out there! She just had to find it. § § § Oh no's! A flashback! gonk Oh well, it mentions Belac. That's a plus. Oh the fun I have Belac I have with Belac in parts three and four.

Chapter Five: "I don't want to disintegrate into nothing!" Esined and Yelhsa were struggling against the Fire Army. Yelhsa hated to fight but desperate times called for desperate measures. She pulled out her Songstress staff, but before she could utter a note, Esined put her hand over her mouth, “Not yet!” She whispered harshly, “It isn’t hopeless yet! I can still get us out of her on my own.” “But I can help!” Yelhsa said, “Please!” The army began to close in on them. “No,” Esined said flatly, “We’ll be fine. Trust me.” Yelhsa smiled and nodded. She used her staff to block an incoming attack from an army member. She trusted her sister, even if her sister didn’t trust her. She turned to watch her sister. Suddenly an army member grabbed her by the throat and began to choke her with one hand, while crushing her rids with the other. Breath started to escape her and her mind was screaming in pain. Her eyes began to close as she started to hear gunshot coming from the distance. Suddenly the army-man dropped her and fell to the sand. Yelhsa took a deep breath as the breath refilled her lungs. She looked at the many who grabbed her. His corpse began to disintegrate. Shocked, Yelhsa stumbled backwards and fell down a sand dune. She turned and found her sister, who was also there, peering over the sand dune. “What is it?” Yelhsa asked, “What are you staring at?” She climbed up the dune to look as well. A young woman was standing in the sand holding two large guns. The bodies of the soldiers were lying all around her and they all began to disintegrate, just as the man who was choking her did. The young woman was small, with messy reddish hair and clad in all green. But if she could do that to all those soldiers, “Esined, I don’t want to disintegrate into nothing!” She said nervously to her sister. “Well then stay out of sight!” Esined whispered harshly as she pushed her sister down so her head was sticking over the dune. The Gunner laughed loudly, “Lousy place to hide, don’t you think?” She said loudly into the two sister’s direction Comment: Oh wow. One of the first times I began to hate Yelhsa and Esined. They're so obnoxious.

Chapter six: Saviors
They couldn’t have honestly believed that I wouldn’t have seen them back there! Lehcar thought, “Why don’t you come out?” She said with a kind smile, “I’m not going to hurt you.”
Two girls step out from behind the dunes. One was obviously older; she was very tall with long light brown hair tied into a low ponytail. She had on all black with a red scarf tied over her head. Lehcar laughed nervously at the site of her, “You’re an assassin, aren’t you?”
The girl nodded and took out a sword, “The name’s Esined. Don’t mess with me okay?” Lehcar nodded in a fearful way, I hate assassins! She thought helplessly. She sent a silent prayer for herself as she looked at the other girl.
The other girl didn’t look nearly as dangerous. In fact she looked cute. She was about as tall as Lehcar and had bouncy blonde hair. She was wearing a rather frilly white and blue skirt and a matching top. It was almost intoxicating.
“What do you want?” Esined snapped, sword in hand. Anger twinkled in her eyes.
Lehcar laughed nervously, she could feel a bead of sweat on her forehead, “You want to pay me back for saving you? How sweet! I’d really like anything, gold, food, coins, food, shiny weapons, food…”
“Why did you kill them?” The assassin snapped, clearly not amused by Lehcar comments, “I could have easily handled it myself!”
“Thank you for saving us,” The younger one said quietly. She smiled sheepishly at Lehcar.
“Shut up Yelhsa! Stop trying to be the good girl!” She hit the young one lightly over the head, “She could easily be an enemy!”
Lehcar sighed as she sat on the sandy ground, “Honestly, Miss Esined, I think you need to more like your sister. She’s much less rude and over all, more likable than you”
“How did you know we were sisters?” Esined asked slyly, “We don’t look anything like each other!”
“Not true!” Lehcar laughed, “You both have the same shaped eyes, and the same nose! And besides, the way you act, it’s sister-like.” Lehcar stood up, “My name is Lehcar. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She smiled and stuck out her hand.
Esined took her hand and shook it firmly, “My name is Esined Natapnav and this is my sister, Yelhsa Natapnav. Do you have a last name, Lehcar?”
Lehcar frowned, “Why do you want to know? I saved you didn’t I? Shouldn’t you just figure that I’m a decent person and not worry about my full name?”
“What are you doing out here in the desert? Don’t most Gun Mages live in the Earth Regions?”
“Gun Mage…?” Lehcar blinked, “Why don’t we talk about this over lunch? I’m starved, aren’t you?”
Yelhsa nodded her head aggressively, “Esined and I were going to that city!” She pointed toward the southwest.
Lehcar squinted, trying to recognize the city she was talking about. When she finally recognized it she nodded, “Klofron City. I’ve been there before. I don’t have a lot of money but I definitely have enough to treat you guys.”
“Yes!” Yelhsa said happily, “Let’s go!” She grabbed Lehcar’s arm and started off for the city. Lehcar turned around to see if Esined was coming and before turning back around, Lehcar swore that the assassin almost cracked a smile. And that’s when Lehcar knew, that these two would be her friends.
I look back on how much the story has changed since I wrote this paryt, and I laugh so much. But even throughout the drastic changes, Lehcar is still a lovable idiot, Esined is still a b***h, and Yelhsa is still a miss-whiney-pants. Though none as bad.
