It's that time of year. Time to go buy those rubber bracelets for whatever cause you see fit, and write BONGAID 2007 on them with magic marker.
What is bongaid, you ask? It stands for "Bring Our Nation Glass". It's an annual charity drive for a non-profit organization that buys glassware for themselves.
Who is this organization? It's us, of course! If you don't have a glass piece to call your own, or yours was tragically destroyed, this is for you!
How do I participate? Start saving $2-$5/week and put it into a piggy bank. Also ask anyone if they would like to donate, and explain your cause. When you get out of school (or summer officially starts, whichever you see fit) you take out your money and count it. Afterwards, hit the head shop (or where ever you wanna spend it really) and enjoy your success!
Want to know some history about BONGAID? The idea came about when a young man, only 18-years-old, walked into a head shop and fell in love with a bong. He realized that it was a very expensive glass bong, and that he didn't have the money. He decided to start saving and begging for money. In the meantime, he bought a nifty little glass pipe for $30. This pipe was his favorite, but it broke before he had it a week.
THUS BONGAID WAS BORN!
He took the money from his constant saving and scavenging, and bought the bong of his dreams.
Alas, after 2006s BONGAID was long over, the young man, now 20, awakened one afternoon after a long night and morning of partying to see his bong was broken.
BONGAID 2007 is now in the building
Official BONG day is Friday, March 30th, 2007. Go see TMNT and get bakered!!! Buy some glass!

A friend of mine had his only glass piece taken by some mean assed cops...I support BONGAIDs efforts to bring glass back into his life domokun
