Vegeta sacrifices his life in against Majin Buu, as everyone knows. After this event, we *know* Vegeta's dead, and we see his body. A grey, cracky, body which falls down, breaks in pieces and get's blown away by the wind.

Was Vegeta made from stone or ash at that moment?

Most people believe stone, but how could stone get blown away? And, how could he turn into stone? o.o

My personal thought is that he turned into ashes, he blew himself up (think: Very hot blast) and he get's blown away by the wind. I think it makes more sense.

It could be like some form of sand stone, which crumbles easily.

the sand stone concept sounds logical....
and the turning into stone part.. well.. he drew all of his power and put it in that plast, he was petrified after the blast cause all of his energy had left his body... and the thing left behind: empty shell made of stone XD

I'm not sure it's a shell, but the rest sounds logical. All the energy left him so his body was petrified. It would be his whole body though.

a shell doesnt have to be empty from the inside, not in this situation:
a human without its mind is still a empty shell.. but the body is filled with stuff

expansion for my theory:
after falling onto the ground, the last amounts of energy holding his molecules together faded away...
because of this the wind could easily carey away parts of his body, cause there was nothing to keep them together.... he just crumbled to dust...

there is no point in keeping a dead thing together...

I say it was salt the body has has large amount of salt in it and salt can mimic salt and ash. All thou ash when compressed can be pretty rock like intill it is broken. I still believe Vegeta is salt.

toriyama told the budokai guys that after he blew himself up he turned to compressed ash
